[news – since i last wrote]
Since I last wrote… school started one day per week. It’s a clinical rotation in clinical pathology (running samples of blood, urine, etc.) and learning surgical preparation. Wednesdays 8a-4:30p. First class was last week, and it was ok. It will be a lot of work, though.
We went camping this past weekend. Left Thursday evening, and came home last night. It was short, but fun. Friday it rained, so we went off-roading and hung out around the campsite. It stopped around 5:00, so we took the boat out for an evening trip, hung out at the beach, then came back and ate dinner. Saturday was spent on a borrowed pontoon boat, which was fabulous! Then yesterday we spent the day on our boat, until it was time to pack up and head home. We actually camped with Greg’s sister and her husband and two kids, and had a good time. Sadly, we won’t get that third trip we were hoping for because…
Greg started a new job today! He is working for Ford Motor Company, on the assembly line. Crazy! He took an aptitude test a year ago, but they weren’t hiring at that time. They called him ten or eleven days ago and asked him to come in. They presented him with an offer letter, and asked if he could start orientation the following Monday (a week ago). He attended four days of orientation, we left to go camping the evening of the fourth day. He started his line job today. Poor schedule: Friday and Saturday 6am-4pm, Sunday and Monday 6pm-4am. But a 10% shift bonus on his paycheck. It will be interesting, for sure. So he is working tonight, then goes back on Friday for a “normal week.”
So things have been interesting around here! Other than that, things are pretty normal. We bought some landscaping stones for the front yard and installed them a couple weekends ago. Dozer is doing well on his chemotherapy and steroid routine – no poor side effects, and he is happy as a clam! It has been 7 weeks since his diagnosis.
Ok, that’s plenty of stuff for one entry!
