[life is good]
Friday Greg and I spent 6 hours out on our boat 🙂 We took it to a lake about an hour from home, with places to anchor and swim, lots of houses along the shore to look at, and a nice place to stop and fish. It was a wonderful, relaxing day! I even drove the boat while we were out – a bit at idle speed, then I worked up to top speed (about 40mph). It was fun, though a bit stressful!
Despite being unsure about the whole thing in the beginning, I am starting to enjoy our boat more and more. I am rather sad that summer is ending. Though I’m hopeful that we will have one or two more days where we can use it.
Despite being busy and stressed out between work and school, I don’t really have much to complain about. I love my job (for the most part), I get to work with animals all day which is my biggest passion, and I’m enrolled in a selective program to become professionally licensed in what I do. How many people can say that they get to do something they are passionate about every day?
Not to mention I have a wonderful husband, a cozy home, cuddly animals, a boat to have fun on, and more. All in all, things are good.
I’ve been trying to be more positive lately, and to look on the brighter side of things. It’s nice to feel more upbeat, though it is difficult to do sometimes!
So overall things are good around here. Two good friends of ours got married last weekend, and it was beautiful. Then Friday we had a great day on our boat (still seems weird to me to say “our boat” – we have a boat!). Today I went to Ikea with my mom and snagged a couple adorable things for the house. Tomorrow will be split between enjoying time with Greg, and studying for an exam I have Wednesday. First one of the semester!
Ok, time to get to sleep!
