another beginning.

I keep wanting to write in here. I have half a dozen scattered thoughts that start to form into perfect OD paragraphs but I usually only have my blackberry with me and inevitably end up getting tired of typing on mini keys.

I’m about five months pregnant now. It is the best, weirdest, most exciting, most natural, calming, craziest thing in the world.

After a few years of half-hearted “trying” one month here or one month there, in the end the minute we decided to properly TRY, it happened. I’d been worried that since I’d never had an ‘accident’ as a teenager or in my twenties, as so many of my friends did, that meant it would be hard for me to get pregnant. yeah, not so much. one month in and bam – it took.

What’s funny is E said to me as we checked into our hotel room for a get away on my birthday weekend, “wouldn’t it be awesome if we conceived right now so we could tell our kid ‘hey! We made you at [hotel’s name] on Mommy’s birthday!'”.

To which I replied, “No, honey. That would only be awesome to us. Our child would be like ‘Ewwww! That’s gross! I don’t want to know where I was conceived!'”

“Ok, that’s true.” he said with a grin. “But it’d still be sort of cool for us, anyway.”

And yeah. It IS cool. My husband knocked me up on my birthday.
