418 Days…

We’ve set a date. After talking to my parents (who do the most traveling during the summertime), we decided to go with June 2, 2012. There’s really no significance in that day so we chose it for the following reasons:

1.) Hopefully it won’t be as hot as a July or August wedding, but it certainly won’t be as cold as it possibly could be in April or May. Case in point–yesterday the high was 83 degrees, next Sunday the high is forecast to be 44 degrees. The average high for June 2 is 80 degrees.

2.) Graduation my department is the following week.

3.) 6 x 2 = 12 so it’s kind of fun that we’re getting married on 6/2/12.

That’s it. No real rhyme or reason. We’ve already started a preliminary guest list and we’re really close to reaching 200 people. That’s really terrifying because I don’t see us staying to a small budget if we have to feed 150+ people. Unfortunately, emotions are already high because some relatives feel that other relatives might be offended if they aren’t invited. We’re footing the bulk of the bill ourselves, so really it should be up to us who we want to invite, but I don’t want any bad blood to start over our wedding.

I’m really excited about getting married to Bobby, but there’s so much to be done! I’m even a certified bridal consultant, but I already feel like this is going to be a bit overwhelming. Hopefully the next 14 months will be a breeze and we’ll have a wonderful ceremony and a fun reception and everything will be great.

I’m just going to keep my mantra: "I will not be a bridezilla. I will not be a bridezilla. *breathes flames* I will not be a bridezilla…"

I’m excited your getting married to Bobby, too! Good luck with the preparations! I hope you find all that you need. I also love the third reason. 🙂
