I haven’t been able to update my diary in a while because the regular site has been down for me. I just found out the mobile site still works.

I went back and read my last entry and feel I should give a little bit of information for anyone following this diary. Ryan’s funeral was awe-inspiring to say the very least. There was a misunderstanding between myself and my older brother so Bobby and I ended up coming a little late. When we got there we couldn’t find a single parking spot. Each and every spot was filled, the parking lot at the hardware store across the street was full, and the parking lot at the dentist next door was full. People had begun parking wherever they could and we had to make a spot of our own as well. The line of people was incredible! They had to finally cut people off to start the funeral 30 minutes late. The entire chapel was full and they had to open the extra chapel to stream video in and I was told by some friends who came for me that the other chapel was full too. I sat in the front row between my mom and Bobby. Every once in a while I would glance up at the body lying in the casket but it was so hard to believe it was Ryan so I mostly stared at the pattern in the carpet on the floor and sobbed. After the funeral they allowed the line to form again to offer condolences to the parents. At first they wanted me to stand in the receiving line, but I just couldn’t do it. It was probably one of the hardest days of my entire life.

In other news, after a final-straw confrontation with my co-workers I decided to quit my job. Bobby and I discussed it and went over our finances and with a little tightening of our belts we can survive on one income. So I’ve been out of work since the end of August. It has been nice to be able to focus on my thesis and attend meetings with my adviser and committee. I’m scheduled to defend my proposal next month and by April I should be completely done with my thesis and graduating with my master’s degree. If I could find an employer willing to pay for my doctorate I may consider it.

Married life is still wonderful! Bobby has been so loving and supportive during my time off. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing husband.

So that’s what I’ve been up to since my last entry.

It’s always so hard when someone close passes on. 🙁 But other than the hard times, I’m really glad you are having a great marriage. 🙂
