News – Uncertain Iraq Milestone (2/2)
US
Edward Kennedy says Bush has the biggest credibility gap since Watergate.
The report on the big blackout last year notes it could have been prevented and cals for tougher power grid rules.
There is some worry over a new and unapproved artificial blood being field tested by paramedics. The product, PolyHeme, could be a lifesaver as blood supplies are often fleeting. But still, it should not be tested on those who can’t accent to the product being used on them.
Beyond the current strife, another big question about Iraq has been should we see the violent images from the war on TV? There are many camps on the issue. Political, ‘moral’ and otherwise. Obviously some fear the coverage as gristly images of death can detour public opinion sharply. Somalia is a sign of that. Others think of the explicitness of the content and their children. Others worry about the truth not being known and want to see what is. Not what is candy coated. Personally, I’m one to err on the side of free information. I want to know what is going on over there.. good and bad.

It would be better if some networks would show the violent images, while netowkrs like FauxNews continued their style of broadcasting. Let people show what they want, and watch what they want.

I am amazed that Kennedy is carrying water for his party. Could anyone take him seriously? Anyone? He is a pathetic old fossil. Not personally, but in his ideas. They are simply old and decrepit. He must not have gotten the memo. We lost the war in Viet Nam but won this one. Saddam is not coming back and we are not taking helicopters from a hotel in Baghdad. Never. Poor Ted.
