News – The Bottom Line for Blackwater

Middle East

Blackwater founder Erik Prince goes before a congressional committee to answer for his creation. The committee didn’t talk about the Sept 16 incident, which is still under investigation, but did bring up other incidents that they believe points out a lack of standards for Blackwater in comparison to the US military. And I have to agree with the trailing question in the article. “The question for this hearing is whether outsourcing to Blackwater is a good deal to the American taxpayer.” That is the bottom line.

Abas and Olmert start the latest bout of talking. I’ll sit up and take note when they start doing. It’s long overdue.

Israel admits that they conducted an airstrike on a Syrian military installation last month. What they have yet to say is why. That aspect remaining a mystery as of yet. Assad has vowed retaliation, but not necessarily by guns and bombs. Personally, I wonder what the US line is on this unprovoked assault that has yet to be explained.

Is Blackwater a good deal for taxpayers? A Blackwater mercenary makes almost a half million dollars a year. An army staff sergeant, who can and does perform the same functions but with stricter guidelines and legal codes, makes about $30,000. What do you think?

Why isn’t the US as loved as it has been before? Because we have dishonest, arrogant, uncompassionate, bullyish leaders.
