Was Bush right about Freedom And Democracy? I agree with the article in it’s middle of the road views. While it must be admitted that Bush has had an effect with his policies, it isn’t clear the depth of this. For many of the events, it seems that the catalysts were already well packed and prepared for over the last few decades.

Greenspan says the US economy is doing ok, though he’d like to see the deficits go down. Wouldn’t we all.

Senate democrats submit a flurry of amendments to the standing bankruptcy legislation being considered.

The House approves a bit of legislation on job training despite democratic reservations on a provision that allows faith based programs to use religion as a hiring criterion. It seems silly since secular orgs tend to get based for doing the same.

The Supreme Court muses if displaying the Ten Commandments is proper on state grounds. Personally, I think it isn’t. But then I think in good we trust should be removed from the money and various religious tidbits placed decades ago should be dealt with(save for historic buildings, I can tolerate them there).

The Iraqi government has extended emergency powers another thirty days. Which I think is silly. They should just break down and extend it indefinitely, as I doubt they’ll stop using emergency powers before the insurgency is done.

Two carbombs have gone off near Iraq’s Interior Ministry, killing at least five Iraqi police and wounding several.

Militants blow a carbomb outside of Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus, wounding an Israeli mother and her four children.

The opposition in Lebanon wants a full Syrian pullout, which isn’t at all surprising.

For once there is a focus on what Israel should do to help peace along.

This will be a true test for the Supremes. They’ve finally got to make a decision that will stick for all states and just get this over with. I personally think they should remove their own religious items from their court house just to make a good example, but that’s just my opinion… Later,
