A bill presented by Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl and Texas Sen. John Cornyn is touch on immigration. Under it all illegals would have to leave and it calls for the creation of a machine-readable, tamper-proof Social Security card for all Americans which would prevent illlegals from getting jobs. IN addition it would fund the hiring of 10,000 new Department of Homeland security workers focused on weeding illegal immigrants out of the workforce as well as 1,100 more workers to stamp out immigration fraud. Why? “The environment in Iraq isn’t right for anyone to get work done,” said Salih al-Mutlaq, a spokesman for the Iraqi National Dialogue, a Sunni Arab organization. He has a point.

As far as I can see Bush could only have selected two or three people in possible pool who would have been less acceptable to Senate Democrats. I guess we will see what happens. I like the choice and am writing an entry on it myself.

Wow, there actually are Senators focused on stopping illegal immigration. I don’t believe it. I doubt it will get passed though.
