Muse – Weekday Talks Shows

On this three day weekend, I had another rare opportunity to be morbidly amused by the talk shows that were on this morning. Two in particular are in mind, both varying from each other vastly.

The first I think about was interesting. Jack Hannah was on it, bringing out various animals to introduce to the audience, rattling off a bevy of facts about each, not necessarily in a clean order. But interesting nonetheless.

One of the most amusing moments was when he brought out a Zebu, which is a sacred animal in asia. Cow-like in general appearance. After Jack made note of the animals sacred stature and noted that harming one with your car could mean a jail sentence, the Zebu relived itself on the stage. “If you weren’t sacred..”, the host mock threatened the animal.

Sacredness has its privileges. 😉

Amusing in another way, was the other show. One of those lie detector, cheating spouse deals. Personally, I’ find people that cheat, then try to hide it and lie about it repugnant. There’s a morbid sense of satisfaction listening to the list of questions being read, each followed by a ‘That was a lie’.

Then comes the flurry of denials. Typical.

Better yet are is the set up. The guy in question is stuck in a room or limo with a pretty girl, his obvious flirting and at times outright making out captured on tape. The saddest aspect comes when the denials remain, though most are smart enough to button their lip after being shown with their hand solidly in the cookie jar. Figuratively, not literally.

I had to shake my head when one particularly dim guy had the presence of mind to blame the woman, when the blurred portion of the video clearly hinted at him feeling her up and, at one point, he appeared to have exposed himself to her.

Sad, the state of affairs with some men.

Perhaps sadder still that I can find strange amusement in evidence of their general callousness and stupidity.

What is even sadder is the women who are married to those types of idiots.. they’ve likely had to hear those types of lies and justifications for years without the convenience of lie detectors and cameras to show what the truth is.

::grumbles at her note:: Well, what I *meant* was what is sadder is what the women married to them has had to put up with. Not the women themselves.. though I’m sure they’re saddened by it :p

The man may be a real dog but it’s shame on the woman if she still stays with him…

“There’s a morbid sense of satisfaction listening to the list of questions being read, each followed by a ‘That was a lie'”…Good one. Those shows always seem to come with a sense of repugnance anyway.

i’m not watching daytime tv for fear of what it might do to my head whilst under the effects of a medication change, benzos and other assorted weirdness. i’m not sure what Rabbis do either, but apparently it doesn’t involve answering emails quickly. i suppose … nah, i don’t know. i’m just too messed up with these drugs.
