Muse – Still Lazy
Yup, I don’t feel like the news again today. Trust me, that’s a passing phase.
Little response to my idea posted yesterday. Though I expected that, since I tend to be a low note diary anyway. 😉
Interesting that Boxer makes mention of radical feminist women. I made no mention of them and didn’t include them in my thought. Really, this is looking at a definition above petty politicization.
It has to do with the real intent of men. Consider if I, for basic and played out example, opened the door for a woman. The simple act in and of itself, ignoring the thoughts of the person, is a neutral act.
However, if I were to me thinking or hold the opinion that women are weak and this is done in response to that general belief, then the action takes on a darker aspect, in my opinion.
Of course, I don’t believe such things. But I hold a strong belief that intent is as much a definition of the relative goodness of an action as the action itself. Sadly, intent is a very hard thing to define and is ever a trial in many aspects of our society.
Anyway..
I’d like to take this opportunity, not that it’s any different from any other Friday, to thank those who continue to read and absorb my various scribblings. Though I don’t do this purely for the audience, it is nice to think that I help spark thought, even if I don’t sway opinions. And, perhaps, by noting things like recalls and patches to Windows, that I help a person or two avert disaster or something like that. 😉
Keep reading, even if you don’t let me know that you are. And if you have something to say, opinion, suggestion or criticism, don’t hesitate to drop a note. If I didn’t want some feedback, I’d have my diary set to no notes. And, in my long history, I’ve yet to ban and have deleted perhaps.. one or two notes, for reasons entirely removed from disliking dissent.
This is a safe place, where you won’t get yelled at by me. And hopefully not by other diarists, but so far in general my noters have been quite kind and thoughtful with their comments. Those who violate my quiet policy of keeping things down to a dull roar will be added to the slim number of notes I’ve deleted.
Game on, read on, play on and so forth.
It’s interesting that you mention “definition above petty politicization.” Since I didn’t say anything about politics. It is not a mere political issue. It is bigger than that. 🙂

All moral issues must include the issue of intentions. There can be no moral culpability without wrong intent. Now, legal responsibility is another issue, but in moral issues intentions must be not only an issue, but the most basic issue. But, few humans care to think through big issues carefully, they only seem to see what things from their own personal view.

I’m siding with Boxer…:)….on some things, in this case, you’re doing a great job.
