Movies – Matrix: Reloaded

Three words. Fuck the Critics!

Ahem, with that out of the way, I have to say that Matrix: Reloaded was a marvelous experience. At the cusp of it, there is no one part that stands out more than the rest. The action was intense, the effects were spectacular, the integration of live action and CG was perceptible, but ignorable and the story/situations were engaging.

One thing I feared at the end of the first movie was that, now that Neo was super man, that he would both overshadow the other characters, leaving them idle and leave little challenge left.

These worries were unfounded and ultimately wrong. Neo remains superman and Morpheus/Trinity remain impressive, yet hard pressed to take on an agent one on one in a fair, stand up fight. And all three, in addition to other supporting characters, were all kept busy in this second of the matrix trilogy.

The effects were a delight, which coupled with live action to create some incredible visuals. Bullet time style slow motion was interspersed within the actions sequences, which created some wonderful visuals. The battle between Neo and the Agent Smith army was one of the best, which eventually moved into a near full CG conflict. Of course, one must expect as much when you have dozens of replicas gunning for one foe while that foe(Neo) is performing some insane acrobatics trying to keep ahead of them all.

Spectacular.

The story.. what to say about it without giving it away to those who have not seen it yet? Suffice it to say that, when the story pauses at the end, the confidence developed in the first movie is all but shattered, leaving confusion and uncertainty. How will the good guys win? We’ll find out in November.

Be there.

Agreed. ^_^ Thanks for noting me.

::liked when Neo was swinging one Smith around to wonk the other guys:: 🙂 And the ethereal twins, oooh, interesting power, that. Shades of Xmen? 🙂

I agree… it was a kick ass film. Did you wait until the end of the credits to see the trailer for Revolutions?
