Me – Random Musings for 4-16-2004
DVDs
After returning from my lunch break, I was feeling a bit bummed. I’ve been looking forward to the Matrix: Revolutions and Kill Bill Vol 1 DVDs, hoping for osme good content on them. Turns out they’re both missing my favorite sort of content, which are commentaries. This is most annoying on the Matrix disk as I enjoyed the track that was on the first Matrix DVD. That the next two were barren as far as commentary has left me grumbly. I think I’ll wait to buy those two at a price lower than $15, just to give some focus to my ire. Which means, most likely, getting them used.
Judas
This morning, before heading to work, I looked over some entries on OD as is my common practice. One talked about Mel’s movie. The entry itself was interesting, but what I’m commenting on is the general line of thought that slowly unwound in my head as I prepared to depart for my morning trek. Generally, of all the characters I’ve seen portrayed in any story about Jesus, the one I’ve identified most with is Judas.
Seems obvious, eh? 😉 Well, perhaps not for the reasons you might think. Not because I’d want to betray the guy, but because, as he’s been portrayed(theatrically, mind you), we have a lot in common. He’s a practical sort. Curious, but cautious and aware of political undercurrents. He keeps warning Jesus that he’s getting too loud for his own good. And, I think, when the ultimate betrayal comes in, it isn’t out of malice, but out of hoping that Jesus might only get a lighter punishment than he would had he continued. Seems that, in the end, he wasn’t quite as aware as he thought, not expecting death would be what Jesus got.
Mind you, that’s my view on things, no based off much more than a few version of the general rise and fall of Jesus, mostly from TV and plays.
Customers
Months ago, I spent weeks making changes to a program to accomidate a new feature for the customers. Apparently, it wasn’t properly communicated and understood, so now I’m taking it back out of several forms and reverting things back to the way they were before.
I hate customers. :p
Have a good one. 🙂
PS: Felt like leaving with a funny, so take a gander at Heavy Metal Guy!
