Me – Game Hunting

It’s not often I get games for Mac, though before that was because of my machine starting to fall far behind the lines of technology. But now I’ve been making up for lost time on some games that I’ve had my eye on for a long time. Most recently Elite Force 2 and No One Lives Forever 2 were among my purchases. But as both of those are conquered, I find myself looking toward new games and have a desire to get a new one, even though Unreal Tournament 2004 continues to be an amusement.

I’ve considered getting Halo, but I’m still kinda sore over the whole Microsoft buying Bungie thing. Perhaps if Halo 2 is ported sooner than years and years after it’s initial release, I’ll get that one. For now I’ve passed Halo by in terms of interest.

Or if I find it new or used for a good, low price I’ll get it.

Dungeon Siege got a good review.

Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix looks like a nice shooter, though I don’t know that I’m in the mood for a shooter as the two I just finished with covered that area. Perhaps I can hit that one later.

LotR: Return of the King? Hmmm.. IT looks like a winner, though as it’s newly out for Mac, it’ll be spendy(Or not, only 40 bucks which is cheaper than I though).

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is still being ported. 🙁 But Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is out there and the demo delighted me. But its $50 retail. 😐

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is another shooter, but got a keen review and is in a comfy $30 buck price range. Looks great, though I don’t know if I’m in the mood for one this immersive(Yeah, I know ‘So what the hell do you want!?!?!’).

Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal was ported a while ago, despite that I never though I’d see it on Mac. Excellent review and I know I’ll like it as I played through and nearly beat it once on a friend’s machine. The game was truly epic and the insane power level of the characters was a delight to toy with. There were some annoying parts, a battle with a dragon that took (figuratively) forever for me to master, but master I did, making it up to the last boss before I had to leave and never got the opportunity to play again. Until now. Hmmm.. I think this might be it.. since I have BG2: Shadows of Amn and have never truly finished it. Perhaps adding this expansion will prompt me to finally reload that puppy and defeat it.. Two games for the price of one(sorta)?

I think I’ve decided. Throne of Bhaal will be my mail order of the day. And there was much rejoicing.

Decisions.. decisions.. decisions. But at least it gives you thinks to get now and possible plans for future games with less decisions to make. 🙂

Dude, old school Doom.

A definant no on Halo, I’m sorry Microsoft…but no. Their computer port still feels like a console FPS, and the FPS is not supposed to be on the console. Satyagraha

Solider F is an awesome game, I warn you it’s addicting.
