Log – Through Darkness to Illumination (5/6)

Contrary glances toward the south at the last question, eyes lingering for a moment before she looks back toward Haplo. “I.. I guess so.. You’re Haplo, right?” Asked in a slow tone, there a fragment of hopefulness to boot.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly, “Yes, that is my name.”

Contrary nods in response, glancing toward the south again. “I know.. I know this is going to sound weird.. but.. do you know me?”, she asks. She takes a slight step forward as she lifts one hand to pull down her mask, letting it hang from her neck, her other hand lifting to take off her hat, which lets free the ponytail she concealed within, as well as her ears, with the left’s tip pierced with two rings, one with a small bell and the other with a silvered ankh dangling. The right has three studs of alternating silver and dull gold along each side. She pauses, arms dipping, hands lightly fiddling with the ball cap.

Haplo Gegs ponders a bit, “Well you do have smilar features to a friend of mine. But you do not appear to be someone whom I know. Why do you ask?” Haplo tilts his head to the other side now.

Contrary seems reluctant to respond, hinted at by her silence and hands tugging on the cap between them. “Just.. curious.”, she decides to say, finally. “What was.. her name?”, she asks cautiously, as if not sure she wants to know the answer.

Haplo Gegs says softly, “Her name was Discord.”

Haplo Gegs says softly, “And before that Serenity.”

Contrary nods slightly, glancing down slightly. “Yeah.. could you.. tell me about her? What she was like?” Contrary looks up as she asks this, taking a few slow steps closer, though she doesn’t get too close. “I.. heard some things around..” Her voice tails off, her shoulders rolled in a little shrug.

Haplo Gegs ponders a bit and nods, “Well she was an interesting individual. While she was stern and cold at times, she did have a heart. Or at least I thought she did.” Haplo says softly, “She was skilled warrior and even more skilled wizard. A techno-wizard to be exact.” Haplo says softly.

Contrary nods slightly to that. “What happened to her?”, she asks. She’s calmed some, it seems. Standing still, rather than slight shifts. Her hands at rest, though they both still hold the cap between them. It might survive if she doesn’t tug on it even more.

Haplo Gegs ponders a few moments, “I don’t think anything has happened to her. At least I hope not. She left a little bit ago, to go exploring I think. She left me a note to not give out her room, and she would eventually return.”

“But she didn’t say when?”, Contrary asks, for a moment seeming strangely insistent. Though the moment passes, she calming. “I was.. hoping you might know.. I mean.”

Haplo Gegs shakes his head, “Discord is a free spirit, she has always come and gone as she choose.” Haplo thinks a few moments, “Was there some specific reason why you wished to know about her?”

Contrary frowns faintly, her response delayed, coming slowly. “I.. don’t know..” She breathes a low sigh, slowly turning around, wrapping her arms around herself closely. “I don’t know.”, she murmurs lowly.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly and thinks to himself a few moments.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly, “How did you learn of Discord? Perhaps that would good place to start.”

“People told me about her.. people here.”, Contrary responds quietly A pause before a new flurry of words pour from her suddenly, though she remains turned away. “I don’t know who I am.. I came here.. looking. People talk about her.. said she’s a little like me.. I thought she might know.. more. I don’t know.” Her head shaken slightly, eyes gazing at the ground before her.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly, “Well, you do look a little like her. But only species I think. Was there there some other reason why you reminded them of you?”

Contrary shakes her head a little. “I don’t know.. I’m not sure.” She breathes a soft sigh, glancing to the side slightly after a few moments of silence. “I.. could I.. get a place to rest here? For the night? I don’t want to walk back through there right now.. I feel tired.”, she asks quietly, her shoulders drooping.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly, “Of course.” Haplo begins to slowly walks towards the door, “Please follow me.”

Contrary lets her arms slide slowly to her sides, turning to follow Haplo without a word. Her gaze is lowered, her thoughts whirling quietly.

Haplo Gegs opens the door off the roof, and walks down the stairs.

Dregtown – Old School – Right Hallway

This is the Right Hallway. Lined up and down the hallway are several of the boarding rooms for the school house. All of them have numbers on the doors, thus indicating which room is which. The floors are nicely pollished and cleaned.

Haplo Gegs leads you over to room #1. “This one is avaiable, would it be alright?”

Contrary looks up slightly when lead to the third floor. For a moment, she stops following. At the door itself. The hesitation is quiet, she following again after a furtive glance about the room beyond. She seems acutely alert, eyes drawn here and there as she follows. A concerned furrow of her brow as she slowly follows into the right hall. When Haplo arrive at room #1, he’d notice that she stopped back a ways. Right in front of Discord’s door. His words snap her form staring at it, looking toward down the hall toward him, stepping forward to quickly close the distance. “Thanks.. I won’t be long.. won’t mess anything up.”, she says distractedly. She pauses when she gets near the door.

Haplo Gegs looks back to you, “One of those rooms is Discords. The 4th or 5th I believe. Her and Strype shared one of them, and the other was Discords work room mostly.”

Contrary is noticeably surprised at your words, glancing back over her shoulder towards the 4th room. “Oh.. really? That’s strange..” If anything, the information seems to unnerve her slightly. Her head turns forward slowly, she seeming uncertain again. Dipping back into silence.

Haplo Gegs nods slowly, “Which reminds me. Have you sought out Strype? He and Discord were very close, if anyone has more information concerning her where abouts. It would be him.”

Contrary shakes her head slightly. “I.. I don’t know who he is.. I never heard his name until you just mentioned it..”, she murmurs. “Maybe.. I’ll try to find him later.” She’ll try to open the door to the first room, though she hasn’t thought to ask what Strype looks like. If she can open the door, she’ll go in, though won’t close it(no need to go into the room though).
