A Brief Roaming Ramble
So, it’s been a good many years since I wrote here. And I’ve had life changes. As I’m sure many have. New job, new address, new pace of life. Though to be honest, that pace of life is not that much different from my prior pace.
That being slow and nor too exciting. Luckily I quite enjoy that pace of life.
Some would find that a bad thing, but not me. A steady, secure life is the best life to me. And that is the eternal goal as far as I’m concerned.
Life is full of amusements and things to occupy oneself with. I’m still an avid gamer, though I play WoW much less than I used to. Youtube is an endless cavalcade of amusements. Both meant to be so and not meant to be so. And one can learn while indulging in those amusements.
I am, in a general sense, a progressive sort of person when it comes to my politics. There are many folk on Youtube who dissect policy and the latest outrage. It’s amazing what people will believe due to their fears of change. The death of culture, the death of ideals. Never realizing that this is the natural flow of civilization. Nothing lasts forever. And the future always holds something new, something potentially better than what is now.
Why is it so hard for some people to let go?
That coming from someone who can be very set in his ways in some aspects. But then, I understand the flow of life. You need only look at history. Great empires rise and fall in their time. Even the greatest, spanning centuries, eventually decline and something new spring from their fall.
And life continues. Humanity steps into the future. And here we are, with pompous blowhards comparing the modern day to, for example, the fall of Rome and other such things. Trying to compare apples to oranges and tell us the end is nigh. All to push their own political agenda.
And see what it’s gotten us. A child in the White House, packing our once respected institutions with liars, cheats and opportunists who do their level best to turn us into a kleptocracy like Russia.
Well, that got away from me a bit, but I’ll leave it as typed.
Suffice to say, the current order does not please me. But I recall my own ‘lesson’ above. With time, all things change. Despite the damage done to our country, this too shall pass. We’ve outlasted and thrived after innumerable disasters. This one will be no different.
Political bullshit aside, simply take that simple lesson. Life goes on and we will persevere past this. As long as you remember what is important.
And that a nice, simple life is preferable to all the craziness going on these days. Simple things and lazy pleasures can be a blessing.
Admittedly the above is a little random, but that’s what happens when you let your thoughts flow and simply translate them to paper without really considering the path they might take.
And it’s that outlook that helps keep me from going bonkers. I am beyond appalled at the current political climate, but you help me realize that it isn’t permanent and the hope for good change prevails. I greatly appreciate your patience and the constancy you show.
