Down the golden path

So I did the oil, oilfilter and new handgrips on Blasphemy today in preperation for Sunday rideday. She needed it, and I also booked her in for a full service next Thursday>
So far for the ride it’s Gary (Bandit 1200), Marshall (’06 Yamaha R1), Derek (VTR 1000F) Derek’s mate (Yamaha V-Max), guy from work named Jason with a Buell Firebolt and myself on my gawjus SV Sixfiddy. Fun shall ensue.

Anyways, as I was working on the girl, I began pondering what the hell I’ll get when I move to Canada, and finally settle with Aimee and work and marriage and all that stuff.

I have two choices in my mind apart from another SV 650/1000.

Oldskool:
Yamaha TRX-850.  Parallel Twin, sounds like a Ducati, goes like a VTR and would probably need new front/rear shock work, better tyres (possibly) and some gnarly paint work. They go in Oz for around the $4500-$5000 mark. This’d be great due to winter being so frickin cold and that’d give me time to work on her myself. Aimee no likey her looks, Aimee not riding her though lol, just not sure she’d get on the back of it 🙁

New Skool:

Ducati 848.  V-Twin 848cc of pure agile sex.  Lighter, faster and louder than the SV, Italian craftmanship at it’s finest. Now the major fear, apart from a $21k+(AU) price tag is service. Ducati have worked on it to the point the 848 has the same distance as any other bike.
When I first talked to Aimee bout this, she was dead against it. Major thing I think was the pricetag, and beleive me, it’s more a fantasy then anything.  But for 21thou Im getting top notch suspension, fully ajustable showa. Lighter rims and better tyres: Pirelli Diablo’s. The stock exhaust apparently produce a rather seductive not even though they have the normal ‘eco’ crap and silencers.  Oh and she her seat height is bigger than a SV too, yay for me.

Or ‘The Ninja’ as Aimee calls it:
Honda VTR 1000F. Sounds hot, runs hot, i feel hot on it and I might see if Derek’ll let me ride it again this weekend lol

But as I said, getting settled, a job, married and secure is priority, but a guy can dream cant he?

PS: Yes….I am a VeeTwin nut!

The Ducati is the superior vehicle, but obviously 4 times as expensive… Depends on the financial situation, but 20 odd K is a lot to pay for something that you can’t do your grocery shopping with. Married?!? What planet are you on – SLAP! J/K Aimee is alright haha.
