Little Brother Is Watching Me – help!!
Got up this morning at about 5.30 a.m. and got some more stuff sorted out on the PC. This morning I went to meet a model who had responded to one of my casting calls on Model Mayhem regarding some short films I am working on for the next few months. We were supposed to meet at the Boomerang Cafe in Kangaroo Point but the place was overcrowded with council workers so we had to go somewhere else a bit more private to discuss doing a shoot. I will definitely use her as she has previously worked with my photographer mate David Entz from Nude Muse, and I have always respected him and his work.
When I got back home my dad told me that some guy who only identified himself as "Gavin" had rung my place and launched into a threatening diatribe demanding that I stay away from his daughter. When my dad calmly explained that he had the wrong person, the guy sheepishly apologised and hung up. This is not the first time something like this has happened. A few months ago some deranged woman who sounded like some crack addict in her 40’s had rung me regarding adverts I had placed for models and musicians in RAVE magazine and Seek.com.au and accused me of ‘ruining her family’.
Like, who the hell are these people, and who do they think they are to ring my PRIVATE home number to make cranky phone calls? Don’t they know by now that such actions are a criminal offense, and if their calls were tracked they could very well get arrested? Unfortunately there are some very tiny, bored, dishonest and extremely sick-minded individuals out there who have nothing better to do with their time than to make the lives of people they don’t know a living hell. One day, their karma will come back on them and they will know all about it.
If I was really a danger to any one’s kids, I wouldn’t be writing this blog now, would I? OK, I may be eccentric and a bit left-of-centre with the way I choose to live my life but it’s harmful to nobody. Sadly, it is human nature to ridicule, vilify and condemn what it does not understand nor seeks to understand.
Aside from that I had a nice enough day. I am starting to get in a more studious mood again, so I bought two second-hand books – one of the play "A Man For All Seasons" about Sir Thomas Moore, a modern day martyr who lost his life for his integrity at the hands at King Henry VIII for refusing to allow him to re-marry after his first divorce. The other was a book on finance mathematics for running businesses as I am planning to start up my own business in July to combine my music, photography, and band management skills into one.
So for the next two months starting from this Friday it will be nose to the grindstone, and my time spent on internet sites will be minimal, although of course I will answer my emails.
Had a brief rehearsal with d-Wizz tonight, and I will be approaching some new venues in Brisbane to book us some gigs with fellow acts Maiden Speech, MC Potatomasta, DJ Fader, and White Elephant Snow.
