Weird Conversation?

I just finished reading everyone’s updates and it’s time for bed, so I think I’ll try and post pictures tomorrow.  I did end up having a great day.  I always have sunday anxiety and start doing work for the week.  I did get a big chunk of work done which included coming up with a workshop for our supervisors on our new performance management system.  Made me feel good that I got that done.

There was one thing that made me really mad.  As I mentioned in my previous entry today, I was going to drive my aunt home early this evening because she lives 45 minutes away and doesn’t really drive much anymore.  My mom came along for the drive and as we were driving my aunt looks at me and says something like (NOT verbatum), "I really proud of you, all that you’ve accomplished–finishing school, getting a good job, being the first person in your family to do so because your parents are stupid and never did any of those things."  I just replied with, "My parents are very smart."  She replied with, a simple "yes".  I could tell my mom was hurt, she sofly said to me, "See how they portray me?"  I just don’t get the balls of some people.  Right after that my aunt put $100 in my glove compartment and when I brought her into her house I secretively took the money and left it on her counter.  One, I would put the money back even if she didn’t make a stupid comment–I’m 32 years old and she was right, I do have a good job and really I don’t need any money—not to mention $100!!!  But, two, I felt like she was trying to cover up her mistake…  Anyway, that’s all on that.  The ride home with my mom was much better.  My mom thanked me for sticking up for her (OF COURSE I WOULD), and it was actually a very pleasant ride.  She was telling me some stories about my dad.

Oh look at the time!  Gotta go to bed!  Good night!

Next time I hope your Mom speaks up for herself. 🙁

RYN: I’m glad I’m doing many things you would do on your holiday trips to the city! I’ll have to add Tiffany’s to the list (how fun!) and FAO–although that’s a given. Jacob used to work their and talked about how fun it is during Christmas. I can’t forget that! Ashley
