Sunday Morning And A Question**Edit

So work was really uneventful on Friday…I got a lot done and plan to do a little more work today. I want to try and get as much as I can done today so I’m not hurrying this week. I have Thursday off, but I won’t leave for the airport until mid to late afternoonish but I really don’t feel like working on that day. I was just planning on checking some emails throughout the day as I did some last minute stuff around the house. This week will be busy. Monday hopefully I’ll get out on time. Tuesday I have my eyebrow apt. and then Wednesday I’ll be at work until 9:30 or so.

Then I leave for Miami and arrive Thursday night. My mom is already there and I’ll be staying with my cousin, her husband and their new baby girl for the long weekend. My best childhood friend lives in Hollywood, so she’ll be hanging out with us for a day or two as well. My mom and I will be leaving together on Sunday. Should be a fun time, can’t wait to see the baby!! I’m excited to go out biking every morning while everyone is still sleeping. They have these bike stations set up everywhere. The city is trying to promote bike riding instead of taking your vehicle places so they have these little stations everywhere. You can purchase to "borrow" a bike for as long as you’d like…one hour, two hours, etc. The bikes have a basket in the front so you can go grocery shopping or put your purse in the front. Last time I was there everyone wouldn’t wake up until late morning and I was the only one that considered sleeping in was around 6:30am. So, I would just get ready for the day and bike on the Miami beach all morning long. It was gorgeous. Another thing that I want to do is go parasailing (sp?). I wrote about making a bucket list a little while ago and it’s one thing I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. I hope it can happen this time in Miami beach…we’ll see.

I haven’t packed yet, but I do have some things set aside that I know I want to bring. I also did laundry at my mum’s house yesterday so I think I’m all set to get everything into the suitcase. I’ll finish that up today.

I have successfully completed my cleanse. It hasn’t really been tough because you get to eat a lot throughout the day. However, I have been craving lamb chops… I still have a lot of fruits and veggies so I think I’ll continue to eat everything in my fridge, but I am planning on going to the store to pick up some cat food and I may get a steak or some lamb chops and a potato to have for today. I think I’m also going to take the left over veggies and make another broth to have for the week at work. It’s nice to have something that can be warmed up to drink in the middle of my day. I get cold easily and it’s just a nice change.

Yesterday I cleaned the house, took Ellianna to the vet, went to electrolysis for eyebrows and went to my mom’s to do laundry. I also paid her bills and brought them to the post office.

My to do list for today is:

  1. Pick up a little more around here
  2. Grocery shopping
  3. Get gas and pick up prescription at CVS
  4. Pack stuff — This is not a big deal. I already have everything gathered together. I think this will be a quick project for me tomorrow after work.
  5. Do work
  6. Make broth and pack lunch for Monday — Not only did I make the broth, I got the lamb chops and potatoes and made a delicious lunch. I also cooked some veggies to have ready for dinner for the week. I was loving the fall day so I decided to make some apple crisp as well, and my home smelled lovely!!! I can’t wait to have some for dessert this week!
  7. Go to my mom’s to see my cousin Chris — I don’t know when he’ll be home, I think he went to the Pats game and I don’t know what time that will end.
  8. If I get back in time make cards (two birthdays, one get well) or give myself a mani/pedi…if not today then some time this week…probably Monday. I didn’t make the cards–I bought them– **hangs head** That’s okay though, I have priorities and it just didn’t make the cut today…

I think I’ll get started on my list… I’ll come back hopefully later on today or tomorrow and post the cleanse. Happy Sunday! It looks like a perfect fall day here.

P.S. Does anyone know of an easier way to post pics than loading them onto the computer, then on photobucket and then on here?????

****Edit

I made some notes of what I did or didn’t do today. I think I’m just going to chill and hang with my cat and try to go to sleep early. After I write this I’m going to give myself a mani, but that’s it. I slightly have anxiety for tomorrow despite all the work I did today. I guess that’s the life of an HR person. **chuckles**

So, here is the cleanse in case anyone was wondering:

This is for 6 days. You can eat all the fruit and veggies you can hold. Also, a broth of carrots, celery, parsley and spinach is made. Just use the broth and toss the veggies, as all the nutrients are in the soup.

Breakfast

  • Fifteen minutes before eating, squeeze the juice of a lemon into a medium glass of hot water and drink it.
  • Have 8 oz of grapefruit or orange juice.
  • Cottage cheese or yogurt – 5 level tablespoons, no more, no less. (Here’s where you can do the peanut butter, probably a spoonful or two.
  • One half pound of fresh fruit. You can eat more, but as least 1/2 lb. No bananas or avocados. I used my Weight Watcher scale which was very helpful.
  • Between breakfast and lunch, eat and drink all the vegetables and fruit and broth you want. The more live food you put down, the more thorough the cleansing will be. The broth you make is full of minerals, and therefore, you drink lots of it.
  • One cup of coffee or tea with sugar and milk is allowed.

Lunch

  • Veggie Broth, drink 2 cups during the meal
  • Salad–make a chopped salad of fresh raw veggies. Use a dressing of olive oil, lemon juice and salt. Eat at least 8 level tablespoons of salad, more if desired.
  • Dessert–fresh fruit with honey if desired.
  • Beverage–8 oz of milk if desired.
  • Between lunch and dinner drink all the fruit and veggie juice you desire. Eat all the fresh fruit and veggies you want. Fill up, it’s medicine for you.

Dinner

  • 2 cups of the broth
  • Cooked veggies with a little butter (I used olive oil)
  • Bread– 1 medium slice of whole wheat bread with a little butter
  • Dessert — salad of fresh fruit or a baked apple with cream (I’ve never heard of "cream" with a baked apple so I just sprinkled some cinnamon on top)
  • If you feel hungry after dinner, eat fresh fruit and veggies and drink fruit and veggie juices and the veggie broth.

Allowable veggies: Artichokes, asparagus, beans, beets, brussel sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers, celery, egg plant, fresh green corn, fresh green peas, green peppers, kohlrabi, lettuce, okra, onions, parsley, parsnips, pumpkin, radishes, rutabagas spinach, squash, swiss chard, tomatoes, turnips…NO POTATOES or BUTTERNUT SQUASH

Recipe for the vegetable broth: can drin

k hot or cold

Take 7 large carrots and small bunch of celery and cut fine. Place in 2 quarts of hot water and boil for 15 minutes. Add one third bunch of parsley and a large handful (I did two bec. I have small hands) cut fine and boil for another 10 minutes. Drain off the juice. Favor with onion salt or garlic. You may add tomato juice or V-8 to it. The above recipe makes about one day’s supply. The purpose of this broth is to flush your system. Drink lots of it during the six days. It’s full of minerals from the vegetables.

Time for my mani…nice Sunday overall.
