Back and Going Full Force
So I’m back from vacation. Both Miami and San Fransisco were lots of fun and I have many pictures to post! I don’t have too many from Miami, just of sweet little Amalia and my #1 item on my bucket list that I got to check off. I took a lot more pictures in San Fransisco because that was my first time ever going. Unfortunately I was without a camera/cell phone for a part of a day and didn’t take pictures because both camera and phone batteries died. Every night I would charge both, but one night in particular ended up being a crazy night which I will share. That crazy night I ended up liquidfaced (that is what my family calls getting a little tipsy) and I didn’t hook my camera or phone to charge once we got home. I think I’m going to share what happened after vacation first and then I’ll do a couple entries with pictures.
On Halloween morning I was already waiting in line to drop off my luggage at 5am. My supervisor texted me to let me know that there wasn’t work that day and that we needed to touch base once I got home because our plant had been closed since Saturday night due to the snow storm (we are open 24/7…manufacturing company). The flight was fine. I got to take a little nap and it felt good because I was trying to get over a cold. Once I got home I fortunately had power, unlike my mom’s house. Driving around I could see trees and branches down all over the place. Only about 6 kids came to the house for trick or treating.
Tuesday our plant still did not have electricity so there was no work. That was an unexpected surprise and it gave me some time to catch up on emails, clean house, tidy up, etc. Wednesday was back to work full force. Friday I laid off our HR Assistant due to having to reduce headcount in our department. It was tough and a hard day. I felt awful that she was let go… It’s a long story and I would like to write more about that, but as a favs only entry.
This weekend has been very pleasant and relaxing. Everything has been cleaned and my house is tidy. Yesterday I went out to lunch with my mom and we ran some errands. Trick or treating was "moved" to last night but no one showed up. I don’t think it was communicated properly in our community. Oh well, I guess Halloween wasn’t a big to do this year. Even after a nap in the afternoon at my mom’s house I still went home and fell asleep pretty early. I guess I needed the rest!
Today I finished up some things and decided to give myself a little R & R day. I gave myself a head to toe mud mask. After the mud dried I soaked in a hot bath and then took a shower. I also gave my self a half mani and pedi. I say half because as I was cleaning yesterday I broke two nails. So, I took off my polish and filed my nails so they were all the same length. I also gave my feet a little extra tlc. I didn’t put any new polish on. My poor feet got 8 blisters (ouch !!!!!!) from a pair of shoes I wore on vaca one night. Since then I’ve been writing this entry and half watching one of my favorite Halloween movies… Hocus Pocus with Sara Jessica Parker and Bette Midler. A bunch of family is going to my mom’s house so I’m going to head over there to hang out. I’m taking my work stuff so I can get some things done there. Around 5pm I’m going to drive one relative home who is about 45 mins. away. I may just have to take a break and post vacation pictures in a bit. I think first I want to try and catch up on my favs.
Happy Sunday!
