I’m not sure where I left off without looking back at previous entries, but I’ll try to catch up with bullets.
- Last week was pretty uneventful, just regular work and what have you. I sent one of my workers home because she needed to get things done for her wedding. She really appreciated it and thought it was a nice surprise. We work really hard and I like to give my team some flexibility when possible.
- On Friday I picked up my mom and we went to Target to pick up some things. I got my godchild some presents for his birthday party on Saturday and picked up some new clothes and things including:
- A small portable AM/FM radio (think ipod size) that has an armband. Sometimes at the gym I don’t feel like listening to music and want to watch what they have on the tv’s. Each tv lists a radio station which allows you to listen to the tv.
- I found the complete first season of the tv show Thirty-Something for $5. I never watched the show when I was little, but since I am now thirty-something I decided I would get it and watch it. I’ve been in a 80’s mood lately…
- Clothes–nice blue shirt for work, skirt and shirt that I don’t think I’ll be keeping. I’m going to return those.
- Legos and Cars race track with battery charger for Drewby (Godchild)
- Saturday I spent some time in the morning making a card for my friend’s birthday which was yesterday. I’ve just started making cards and I think it’s so much fun!!!! It brings me happiness like scrapbooking, but takes less time which is PERFECT for someone with my busy life. I ran some errands and then got ready for Drew party. Got to his house in the afternoon and got home around 9pm. We had lots of fun and I was standing next to the pool playing with him and his sister. At one point he said, "Nouna, (that’s the Greek work for godmother) you are so funny that I’m going to start calling you Cosmo." He was so cute, so for the rest of the day I was calling him Cosmo and joking with him. Lots of laughs during the day. He turned 5 and hopefully I’ll post some pics over the weekend. His older sister is adorable too. I have a great relationship with both and I love to babysit them whenever possible. Such cute, kind hearted kids.
- Sunday was a lazy day. I picked up more…organized scrapbooking stuff, relaxed a little and headed over to my moms. I paid some of her bills and hung out with her for a bit and then headed down to the pool. My friend Laurie and her 1 year old came over to lounge and swim by the pool…great times. Then back at home I got ready for the week and made another card for the girl at work that’s getting married.
- This week has been a little crazy. My boss is on vacation this week and we are busy. All is well though, I just keep plugging away. I’ve been recruiting like crazy and tomorrow we have a promising candidate coming in for a panel interview for our supervisor position. Fingers crossed…
- Monday would have been my dad’s birthday…miss him…
- This weekend I’ll be heading to the beach in Ipswich on Sunday.
- Next week on Tuesday I have a dinner with co-workers for a work event. On Wednesday and Thursday we are having our annual Summerfest which is always a fun time and a little break from the office. Thankfully I won’t be working nights…just days!
- Friday my mum and aunt will be leaving for Miami and will be staying for at least a month and a half. They are going for the birth of my cousin’s baby….Amalia. I hope to go down at some point for at least a long weekend. I don’t know what I’m going to do without taking care of my mom everyday. Now, just to be clear, my mom is perfectly capable taking care of herself–health wise. She doesn’t drive, speak English, read or write in Greek. I also just spend a lot of time with her because I feel like it helps each other with coping with my dad’s passing. I say I take care of her, but it’s more just spending time with her, driving her around, etc. Anyway, this is my life right now and I’m not going to know what to do with myself. Hopefully I’ll get to relax, scrapbook, be on top of work, etc.
- Lastly, I’ve been watching a reality show on the OWN network with Shania Twain. It has put me in the country mood and in between cleaning/hanging out/scrapbooking I’ve been alternating listening to Shania Twain and Kenny Chesney…It’s been divine!
This has gotten kind of long and it’s already 9:15 so I think I’m going to crawl into bed and read favs. Good Night and Happy Thursday tomorrow!
Goodness I miss scrapbooking. I haven’t done it in a bit because I’ve been working on planning my sisters wedding. I need to get back into it though! Ashley
