Wu! And other such oddities…

  Good day to all.  And no, I didn’t spell ‘wu’ wrong.  I don’t mean ‘woo’.  I mean ‘wu’ as in the Chinese languages.  I’m taking T’ai Chi this semester.  There’s actually various types of t’ai chi, just like there’s different types of kung fu (pronouced Gung fu).  The one that I’m learning is the Wu style in short form.  It’s really cool though, especially because the teacher knows that I’ve studied other martial arts, so he tells me how the specific movement relate to certain fighting moves.  I found out that’s it’s also supposed to stimulate the lymph nodes in the body, which help your immune system.  I hope that’s true because I’m getting sick and I’m trying to fight it off; extra zinc and vitamin C for me.

  I’m mad about getting sick though.  This is the first year since I was a little kid that I’ve gotten sick more than once in a year.  Usually I get sick once a year, if that.  This year it’s felt like I’ve been fighting off cold after cold.  I think someone in my history class on tuesday got me sick though.  I like to sit in the front of my classes, that way I get my money’s worth (or as close as I can in this univ).  So there I sit in the front row and this is already a full class so there’s not much choice if you want to move around.  Anyway, there was a guy next to me that was kind of coughing, but he didn’t sound awful or anything so I went on with my notetaking.  So, it’s already a good 20 minutes into class and this guy comes in late and, of course not being many chairs left, he sits right next to me.  And this guy stinks…now I don’t mean ‘oh I forgot to put on my deoderant this morning and had to run to class’ sort of thing, I mean like someone who needs to look up the meaning of soap and water to understand, too many beans for breakfast that were past the expiration date, type of stink.  And then he’s coughing and sneezing too.  So I had to endure the rest of the class like that cause there was nowhere to move and like hell if that guy is going to run me out of class and miss the rest of the lecture.  So needless to say, I was quite annoyed by the end of class.  Then today stinky guy comes in like 20 minutes before class ended (class is an hour and twenty minutes long).  But I did make sure to sit in a different place today, thank god.  Anyways…

  Between getting sick and catching up on reading I was so tired this morning that I fell asleep on one of the couches in the library.  I didn’t even make it to my english class.  But I wrote him an email saying how I was sick and I thought that I could make it, but just couldn’t.  He wrote back and said my absence was excused and that I could turn in my work next class, so all’s well. 

   There’s a couple of games that I’m thinking about buying…well, more than a couple, but there’s two in particular.  I just have to decide on which one to buy first, because I’m going to buy each one whenever I get a paycheck, so it’s not a drain on my finances.  I want to get the new DDR, DDR Extreme.  That’s the version in the arcades right now, so it would be cool if I could practice at home and then rock out in the arcades when I’m in front of people, hehe.  I also wanted to get StarOcean.  I rented the game a couple of weeks ago to see if it was worth the hype and it really is.  But I got stuck in the caverns before I returned it, so I’m definately going to buy the players guide with it.  I guess there’s not really much else to say though.  As usual, if anyone ever had any questions, feel free to ask.  Good eve to all.
