Maverick Effect (Chapter 1)

Light, sound, music. He stood there, in the darkness aware of all these things. He put his forehead against the wall, feeling the coolness of the stone. At the moment the crowd was silent. But he knew that all it would take for them to raise to a roar was his nod for the show to begin. He took and deep breath and pulled away from the wall. He pressed the activator on his light particle tracer bracelets. The effect of them moving around was a cross between lightsticks and sparklers.

” Angie…my Strad please.”

One of the descendents of Antonio Stradivarius, one of the greatest string instrument craftsmen in history, had taken on his ancestor’s work and continued the legacy quite well. Angie handed him the electric violin, thumbing on the micro pickup and attaching the the micro reciever to his belt.

“All set Mav.”

He winked at her and gave a nod the the tech chief.

“Thanks Angie. Let the fun begin.”

The tech flicked on the controls to the lights and stage effects. As soon as the light displaced the darkness, the crowd went wild. He smiled to himself as the band began to play and stepped out to thunderous applause.
