Swannoma
What is it? Swannoma is a tumor on the nerves in the spine at the base of the skull that can affect ears, face, balance, headaches, and much more.
Usually goes undetected in most people because it is usually really small and grows slowly – only 1% of the cases of this tumor are malignant the rest are benign, but a traumatic event to the back of the neck can cause it to start to grow rapidly and put pressure on the nerves and wrap around several of the off shoot nerves. It can only be seen in cat scans and MRI when contrast is used.
I am going to speak to my neuro about this next week when I am in FL. Not one of my neck cat scans or MRIs used contrast. It is slim to none chance I have this – I am not saying I do, but it sure would explain a lot of my symptoms that the Neuro just said was a brain injury.
I am going to log off now. I have had a Migraine for 5 days and I am out of all my meds until next week (Hopefully he will fill them)

I hope they can help you figure out your migraines and get rid of them. I am blessed that mine have lessened in frequency and length, but I still get them sometimes. I know all about those looooong headaches. I think my longest was only three or four days though.

That’s a long migraine-you must be exhausted. I started suffering with them recently and I know how draining they are. I hope you can find a solution. 🙂

*feels for you* I’m so sorry 🙁 I’ve used excedrine migraine with mixed success. Maybe you could try that while you wait for new med? Oddly, I still haven’t seen a neurologist–but my lawyer told me to. Weird, eh?
