Some photos

I got a Super Macro lens for my Minolta and I was playing around with it.. Here are some of my results:

A wild Iris in my back yard.

~*~*~*~

A shell that was about 1/4″ in size.

~*~*~*~

An extreme close up of some lantana growing in the side yard.

That is all the photos for now. I still have to write a proper entry. I will get around to it. I just have to really get my thoughts organized. You know – when I am about ready to fall asleep I can write out my entery in my head but then when I actually sit down to write it – I can’t get the words to flow. Sigh.

Soon, my friends, soon.

Wild irises in your backyard!?!?!?! You lucky woman!!!!!!!!!! 😀

ryn: I don’t think yer a weirdo! *hugsssssss* I think your honesty comes from the heart, which I totally and utterly appreciate. You made me squeal when I read that Autumn knows the planets… yeeeeee, you are an awesome mom for teaching her that! 😀 😀 😀 😀 About the Nikon vs Canon 20D: the 20D is being phased out… if it was left up to me, I’d go for the Nikon. If I didn’t have so much

Happy birthday!

ryn: your 28-80 at the lowest f setting, should do well for portraits… I have one of Tamron’s 70-300 lenses and I used it a lot on my 2nd stay in Ireland, for landscapes and all. For action, you can use both… it’s all according to how close you are. Tamrons are great lenses… I have never had an issue with mine. 😀

ryn: hm. Well, I’ve never used a Tamron lens. I have a Sigma and they are pretty close in caliber. I didn’t care for the sigma. It was a 105mm macro lens and was insanely LOUD and slow. The biggest difference in getting a Tamron or Sigma lens is the quality of glass that is used. That is why they can charge so much less than Nikon or Canon. I say if you can afford it, go with the brand….

March 24, 2006

name lens, if not – Sigma or Tameron are perfectly acceptable substitutes. Sicne I got my two new Nikon lenses, I have found myself spoiled and refusing to look at any other substitute – they are that great. I have also heard that Sigma or Tamron when compared to Nikon/Canon the exact same lenses will give results 1f/stop difference. Meaning a 2.8 Nikon isn’t 2.8 in Tamron – more like 3.5.

I don’t know how much truth there is to that, but I read it on a Nikonian feed a few weeks ago.
