Six Week Check up
Wow has it been that long already?
Doc says everything looks fine. I can resume normal activities now. I am only four pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight! WOOT I am 217 and I was 213!! I am retaining a little bit of water today (I ate salty food all weekend) so I am really happy.
TMI AHEAD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: I talked to her about birth control. She asked if I had been on the pill before and I said yep – both ortho-cyclene and ortho-tri-cyclene and both gave me bad mood swings and break through bleeding. I also tried the depro shot and did great the first shot but the second one I had bleeding the whole time. So we discussed other options. She said IUD may not fit well as I had not delivered vaginally but she said she would try it if I wanted – but I did not feel comfortable having something permanently inside me. So we talked about over the counter methods and decided on the contraceptive film. It is new in the US but has been used for a long time in Europe and Asia.
End TMI.
Autumn is being a good girl today and has hardly cried. She is sleeping now – I should nap. I really need to nap. If I can get her out of the car seat to the bassinette without her waking up I will nap… Some how I don’t see that happening. Maybe I will just lay here on the sofa. That sounds like a plan. Good thinkin if I do say so myself! And I did.
Entry number one. Keep your eyes open cause there may be another entry from me today. Maybe but not sure.
🙂 Yay for resuming “normal activities”. LOL!

I’ve used that film before. It’s a different type obviously. But it was like clear plastic that melted in the hoohah, lol :X

I’ve never heard of the film before….I might have to do some research on that because pills just screw with me terribly.

Time flies, eh?

My husband is already groaning about the six week wait!! I bet yer DH couldn’t be happier, he he!!! I used to be on the NuvaRing because I had lots of birth control probs. Just a thought, it worked really well for me, it is a relatively new thing I think!!

Has it really been that long!? I’m glad you and baby are healthy and doing well!! About the TMI subject: I just got on orth-evra (patch) and I’m liking it, just stick one on your butt for a week and you’re good to go! I’m thinking it has the same meds as ortho-cyclene cause that was what I was on before, so it may not work for you, but ask…

so you don’t want to know that I’m 25 pounds lighter than my pre pregnancy weight? *ducks for cover* xxx

RYN: I know. 🙂 Jimmy thought there’d be about $60 and when he told the teller that (she asked him how much he thought was there so he told her)she laughed. 🙂

I just had an IUD placed and I can’t even notice it…. Plus I’m still losing weight cause I don’t have the hormones going through…. 🙂 They say cramping can occur, but *knocking on wood* I’ve had no cramping so far and I’ve had it for two weeks
Warning Comment
What about the patch? Or are you afraid it will have mood swings like the pill since it’s essentially the same thing?
Warning Comment
Six weeks was such a long time to wait for “normal activities”. I was soo glad when mine was up.

Ummmmnnn… you might want to use an additional method along with the film, such as a condom. I might be behind the times here; but when I was considering using contraceptive film, it strongly advised using a barrier method along with it. Maybe it’s gotten better, like IUD’s. 20 years ago I wouldn’t have had an IUD no matter what; but now they’re perfectly safe and effective.

I don’t know anything about the Film (We don’t have it in Canada) But I have an IUD. It’s called Mirena. it’s TINY an plastic and after the first couple days of mild discomfort (Very mild!) It’s fine. It looks like a stretched out letter “m” and can stay in up to 5 years or taken out at any time and you can get pregnant from the moment it is removed!

Oh shut up. (tongue in cheek here) It has been 5 months and I still have 20 pounds to go. Mind you I just ate mindlessy when I was pregnant and pregnant for 2 years! My husband is going to get snipped. Yikes for him!

My sister had an IUD put in and she bled just as heavy as she did after she had her son. She was in a lot of pain and said she wished she hadn’t have done it.

🙂 You always make me smile 🙂
