Number 16 is on the way! NEWS ITEM

Arkansas family expecting 16th child

TONTITOWN, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas’ best-known big family will be getting bigger in the fall. Michelle Duggar and her husband, former state Rep. Jim Bob Duggar, say they’re expecting their 16th child.

Michelle Duggar was honored in April 2004 with the state’s Young Mother award. At the time, she was pregnant with young Duggar No. 15, a boy named Jackson born May 23, 2004.

The next child, a girl, is expected in October.

“We love children,” Jim Bob Duggar says. “We consider each one a blessing from the Lord and we would both love to have some more.”

Michelle adds, “They’re a gift.”

Baby girl Duggar will join her family in a new, 7,000-square-foot house that the Duggars have been building for the last two years. When it’s complete, the home will have a commercial kitchen, 10 bathrooms, master and guest bedrooms, a laundry room with four washers and eight dryers, and two dormitory-style bedrooms – one for the boys and one for the girls.

The Duggars say No. 16 might not be their last.

She will have been pregnant for about 15 years of her life after she has this one. I cannot imagine! Permanent Cankles!

Nope – still no Autumn entry yet. Your patience will be rewarded – I promise…. 🙂

Wow! that’s amazing! And good morning 🙂

My grandmother’s next door neigbors have 17 or more (I lost count years ago). That women has been having babies longer than I’ve been alive. I just don’t see how some people do it.

I watched a TLC or Discovery show about them. It is amazing how they deal with all the kids and they homeschool on top of that many kids. YIKES, no thank you…

Wow. 16? I’m trying my hardest to have my first! By the way, I would’ve said good morning like your first noter, but here it’s around 12:00 AM. 🙂 And, thank you so much for the recipes.

Ugh, just the thought of all those kids makes me sick. Just being around 1 for more than a few minutes gets on my nerves…lol. I think I would have had to kill myself after having that many kids. Or maybe the husband! LOL!

she’ll prob lose her mind in a couple of years,if she hasn’t already!

wow- thats amazing

Wow. I watched a documentary on their family just a few weeks ago, from when she was pregnant with no15! I mean I’ve always said I’d like a big family, but I don’t know if I could manage that many.

Wow!

June 18, 2005

good Lord! I just watched a show on the Discovery Health channel on that family! they are certainly doing things differently than I want to do them, but more power to them if they can afford them! 0_o

I can’t imagine having so many kids. I saw a show on tv about that family just a couple days ago. Its amazing how organized they are…all their kids are happy and seem well-adjusted. And they pay for everything in cash…including their house & cars. When they went shopping (at Aldi’s), their grocery bill was over $800!

June 18, 2005

holy crap!

June 18, 2005

Omg I can just imagine their grocery bill…*faints*

June 18, 2005

damn!

oh my wow!

June 18, 2005

I saw that documentary, too, when she was pregnant with Jackson. There are a lot of boys in that family; glad this one’s a girl. They homeschool, homemake, home-do everything. How are they going to send all the children through college?! 16 children… my grandmother was somewhere in the middle of 16 children, but THAT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME!!!

OMG. Are any of them adopted or anything? How does a female HAVE 16 children? OMG..

June 18, 2005

Holy cow. I think I’d die if I had 16 kids. Just the thought of it makes me want to jump off a building! 😉 And, the reason I noted on a MAY entry is because my favs only showed you updated.. and took me to THAT entry. Weird!!!

June 18, 2005

i saw that documentary on them it had me fascinated by how organized they were unbelievable!!!

June 18, 2005

Unbelievable. What is she thinking?! Not only permanent cankles but permanent nausea and cravings… No thanks!

I have 4 I cant imagine 16 but hey my grandmother had 12 and she loved every second of it….M

For there last kid they were on TLC. I cannot remember if it was a Baby story or something different! Thats CRAZY! Can you imagine having that many kids? By now she probably doesn’t need to go into labour. By the ninth month her body just ejects the kid like a bowel movement!LOL

June 20, 2005

Far out… a commercial kitchen and dormitory style bedrooms… imagine that. I visit a parenting board where one of the members just had number 12 in January. Their oldest is about 17 or 18. I don’t think they’re finished having babies either!

June 21, 2005

I saw a show on them and I think it is sad. The older kids have no childhood…they are only 13-18 years old and all they do is take care of their younger siblings. That’s no life for a kid their age.

June 21, 2005

OMG! Her ‘reward’ for number 15 should have been a free sterilisation… how on earth can anyone support that many kids? Not to mention the sheer length of time she must have been pregnant! I wonder if she produces multiples, or if she’s really had 16 seperate pregnancies.

Damn, and I’m having a hard enough time trying to get Justin to give me more than two!
