My Photoshoot today*Edit* X2
Well I had a second photoshoot with Unexpected Blessings and her children today (and my daughter, Autumn, snuck in for a photo or two as well). It was the first time using my lights and background –
Here are but a few of the results – Please let me know what you think!
~*~*~*~
This is the best on of all three kids, (C, Autumn and M). They were really hamming it up!
~*~*~*~
~*~*~*~
~*~*~*~
This one I was just foolin around with cloning out everyone but C – because Unexpected Blessings says she never has any photos of C Smilling – and I wanted her to have one! I need to do a bit more work on this one I think….
~*~*~*~
Goin for a ride!
~*~*~*~
Mother and Daughter
~*~*~*~
Ok the first one is the OOOPS the second one I worked on color saturation, clarity and jpg noise removal… among other things…
~*~*~*~
~*~*~*~
~*~*~*~
This one is my FAVORITE!
~*~*~*~
Of course that is not all the photos I took or edited – I do have more up at my online photo gallery.
I think, for a first time using the lights, I didn’t do half bad!
Now what do Y’ALL think? And be honest, let me know what you think I should have/could have done better.
Now I need to work on my advertisment… You all can help me with that too if you want! lol
Ok I am tired and I am going to try to sleep – Autumn is teething again STILL and was up most of last night and could not be comforted…. PLEASE SLEEP TONIGHT BABY….
**EDIT**
Thanks for the comments! I really appreciate them! So nice to get honest opinions and not always saying how good they are. If I don’t know what I am doing wrong – then how can I correct my mistakes!
In the first picture – I pretty much had no control over where Autumn wanted to stand… LOL I tried to get her to stand away from the backdrop – I really did – but she wanted to lean against the wall! Silly girl. LOL
In the picture with M and the pink background – well that is a D’oh! MY FAULT – I AM AN IDIOT MOMENT – I spent so much time working on changing the background color that I forgot to finish the rest of the color/contrast and sharpness balances! I can be a doo doo head sometimes! LOL I will work on that one some more too and see if I can bring the balances up.
What is really funny is in some pictures (not the ones I have posted here of course hee hee)- I was not focused in close enough in to the subjects – so you could see the back light lamp and my front door! OOOPS… heh heh. I have a lot of learning yet to do.
I also need to figure out why, when I take a photo in RAW format – I cannot open it with any of my image editing softwear programs or even window’s viewer… GRRRR. I have about 10 photos of M that I cannot open!
Please keep the comments and suggestions comming!
**END EDIT**
**EDIT 2**
I just retouched the photo of M with the pink background and I have put them side by side – let me know if it is any better….
**END EDIT 2**
In unrelated news – Hurricane sex is sex that reaches wind speeds of over 75 miles an hour – anything below that but above 35 miles an hour is Tropical Storm sex….. Just thought you would like to know….

Well thanks for that tidbit of info. 🙂 I think the pictures came out really nice. I like the backdrop too.

I think the pictures look awesome! I like how you used the fabric for the background and let it lay like that. Some people try to have perfectly flat backgrounds, but I think it takes away from the depth of the picture.
Warning Comment
I think the kids are to close to the ‘wall’ in the first one. It makes it look.. i don’t know..just weird. But I like the other once. Kisses

I think Shortbus is right, the first one does look a little off with them so close to the wall. The pink backgound one, the little girls face is in shadow or something, it looks a bit dark. I think it’s a damn fine showing for a first try with all that new equipment.
Warning Comment
Great work! Unexpected is gorgeous… I love the formal look with the last ones.
Warning Comment
I think you did an AWESOME job for the first try the first photo is a bit too close to the wall but still cute as could be. take care Good Luck

I did something with one of the pictures…I wanted to send it to you, but I dont know your email address. Can you leave it for me in a note?
Warning Comment
those are all great!!

I think they’re pretty darned good for your first effort. I love the one of the little boy grinning… a few are a little dodgy but you seem to be well aware of their problems. I think it just needs some more practice and you’ll be ready for the bigtime! (huggles)
Warning Comment
i think bare feet would add to the pic. no shoes on the kiddies. your models are all beautiful!
Warning Comment
Great job for your first time! It was a little hard to see M’s face in the pink background…almost looks like a shadow on her face. I could be wrong…and maybe that is the look you were going for. {{hugs}}
Warning Comment
For your first time working with your new equipment I think you did great! :c)
Warning Comment
Those pics are great!

RAW images are tricky… usually you have to use the camera maker’s software… or if you have PSP 9, it should open them for you. When I shoot in RAW, I use PSP 9 to get to them.
Warning Comment
The 2nd one has more clarity… it looks good. 😀
Warning Comment
Ok I sent them!

well i am not good with advice on pics, but you can check out a couple of my girls that my Mom took in my entry “Latest Family Mug Shots” I think that my Mom did a great job on my daughter Savvy’s pic. She had the fan blowing our hair. LOL

I love the one with the wagon! Very professional!
Warning Comment
That looks so much better!! I also love the wagon photo!
Warning Comment
LoL! no ofcourse you can’t always controll them. LoL. But maybe if you hang the background away from the wall they will quickly discover that they can’t lean on it?? Kisses
Warning Comment
Oh and I agree.. kids look way better with their shoes off. Always suggest that to the parents who come with their kids for photos! Kisses
Warning Comment
aww I think they look awesome! Autumn is looking so much more grown up…look at her hair!!! AWW
Warning Comment

Hi! Great pics! Your angel is so cute! 😉

I guess I am just not the person to tell you how they should be. I liked them all. LOL @ Hurricane sex. That’s just too good not to repeat! Have a great day!
Warning Comment
GREAT PICS!!!

I love pictures that don’t look prepared or that the person was rehearsed. I think the ones where the kids are doing there own thing are the best. I do love the one with the little guy smiling. I know how hard that is I have one kid who is just like that. They all turned out really well.
Warning Comment
great so far honey. I’d like to see the creases out of the back drop in the first couple of pics but apart from that you have taken some impressive studio shots. I like the one where they are playing with the truck – more informal I guess. Of course I’d like to see more of Autumn too!!! (and you) xxx
Warning Comment
Those pics look great! YOu did a great job!
Warning Comment
wow…they came out great!! I am going to post them in my diary (saving them on my own site of course) I hope Connor will cooperate better next time. LOL GREAT JOB! *hugs* It was nice spending time with you guys, too. the kids got along great…definatetly have to get together again soon.
Warning Comment
oh, did I leave that CD at your house? Autumn got it out of my diaper bag so I put it on the computer desk and I think I forgot it. lol
Warning Comment
I came from Kim’s diary..I asked her but she told me to come ask you. LOL! I just started some home courses for photography and I’m going to practice on my friend who is pregnant. What kind of fabric did you use to drape around Kim? Do you have any websites or tips on where I can get good priced backgrounds or a decent priced background stand. Or heck, what I can use to hold the backdrops instead
Warning Comment
of a $300 stand? LOL! Can you tell I’m kind of new to all of this? I have always loved photography and figured I wanted to make something out of my hobby. I think the pictures you took are fantastic by the way :0)
