All the advice about the nursery

I am not really complaining mind you, but I had say what is on my mind about the advice…

You know – it just Cracks me up. Don’t have the crib by the window, nail the furniture to the wall, don’t use crib bumpers …. etc., etc.

How in the world did the Human Race survive this long I wonder?

Sixth entry for today.

I LOVE the fishy theme!! It looks great..you did forget to mention that you are missing the MOST important thing: BABY!!LOL

I didn’t use teh bumber, once P figured out to use it to pull up and try to escape. You can see them easier and from any point in the room anyway then. How would you survive without us? 😉

lol

I bet the person who left you that mean anonymous note is the same person who left you the note about making sure your furniture is nailed to the wall and all that good stuff. But really, how DID the human race make it this far??? I know my furniture wasn’t nailed to the wall when I was a baby. AND, the slats on my crib were almost 2-1/2 inches apart! Good Lord, it’s a miracle I’m still here!

next they are going to tell you you should put a laptop in the crib with a moving screen saver!

sorry that last note was me..not signed in. take care

Mean note writer (2nd from top), you should have left your name, coward! We are not allowed to leave unpleasant comments here. Dakota Parks, you are not old and ugly. Your pictures prove that. I know what you mean: people often give me different (even contradicting advice) for the same thing. We just have to decide what’s best for ourselves.

Yup, I got that too. Just have to try to sort thru what you can use and disreguard the rest.

April 7, 2004

LMAO! Yes, I wonder the same thing. Kisses

we had to put blankets in our baby’s cradle because we didn’t get bumpers and I have to say that she has started to scoot herself into them, to the point that I’m worried about her suffocating..but as long as your baby can roll their head, they should be fine because if they can’t breath, they aren’t going to leave their face there

April 7, 2004

I’ve never heard of nailing furniture down..hmmm..ours isn’t nailed down, but I think that we need to do something with our dresser because our cats have already knocked it down (scary)… oh and I forgot to mention..we do have bumbers in her crib though..we haven’t put her in it yet, but those bumpers are so thin, I’m not worried about much there

just go with what you want! 😉

I was thinking that too, all the things we’re supposed to do now, it’s a wonder any of us survived childhood!!! xxx

With the advice now a days I am suprised my boys have made it this long (11 and almost 8). They had bumpers in their cradles and cribs. We didn’t nail the furniture down, just made sure it wasn’t top heavy or unstable. But..only thing I would do, make sure that the cord for the mini blinds is away from the crib. A friend of mines daughter almost died cause once she could pull up she grabbed contd

it and almost hung herself. Hell I went against the rules now, cause both the boys were facing front in car seats long before they were a year.LOL

lol here in earthquake country everything has to be nailed to the wall. I wouldn’t worry about it in FL until she’s about 12-14 months old and pulling up, then you just test, if you can pull it over by pulling gently on the bottom shelves, bracket it at the top with an “L” bracket to the wall. The soda can thing is smart, if you bought the crib secondhand, and it is more than 5 yrs old.(c)

though all of us ‘oldsters’ certainly survived our cribs with the bars further apart. Um..lessee…all 3 of mine had bumpers. When they started climbing the bumpers we took them out, but its silly not to have them when the peanut is so little and needs softie space. Um…what more unsolicited advice can I give you? 🙂 Oh yeah, make a LOT of noise while she’s really little, so she learns to (c)

sleep in noisy environs 🙂 Wait! I’m sure there’s more! 🙂 (teasing you, y’know)~Hugs & Kind Thoughts~
