A pinch of this and a dash of that….

Wow has it really been that long since I wrote an entry??

Well here is what has been going on – –

Temp Job

I have been exhausted from the temp job. I got there on Tuesday at 8 and had to wait for someone to show up who knew what I was supposed to be doing. I was dressed Business Casual just as the Agency told me to. When someone finally knew what was going on – I ended up going to the manufacturing building – (this company has 5 buildings at the OB Airport Industrial park).

When I arrived I was ushered through a maze of machines to a large sorta office area where QA is located. Everyone was wearing jeans and t-shirts – I was a bit over dressed to say the least.

Everyone there is very nice – they asked what hours they told me to work and I said 8-5 with an hour for lunch — the two women (who are both biker chicks WOOT) looked at each other and said to me “why would they tell you that when we work 7-3:30 with a half hour lunch.” LOL I think the agency thought I was in the office not the QA in the manufacturing department. So I got to wear jeans and work the hours they work.

What I was doing: I would go to the multi-function machine (scanner, copier, printer) Scan in Certification of Confornment Certificates, Material Certificats and various other pieces of paperwork into Adobe (they have Fantastic OCR Softwear!) and then match them up with the Purchase Orders that were in the computer already. Kinda boring – and it is not Administrative Assistant work – but it is money and it keeps me out of trouble. They liked the fact that I learned how to do this in less than a day and that I am pretty fast at it — so they are going to keep me on for at least another three weeks. So I will be scarce but will try to write in the evenings.

Saturday – Yesterday

I told DH that he had to take me somewhere and get me away from the house. We have spent the last umpteen weekends inside and I needed away. And I did not mean just go to the grocery store… SO he called his dad and we went to the Fort in St. Augustine for a few hours. I took some photos that I need to post.

We decided to eat at the Conch House for lunch. Boy is that place expensive. I ordered conch and shrimp pasta with lemon butter sauce made with sun dried tomatoes instead of regular tomatoes… DH ordered carribean chicken over pasta minus the sun dried tomatoes and his dad got a steak sandwich.

It took forever for them to get our food out to us – they said they had a problem with the sun dried tomatoes on DH’s entree. When they brought the food out mine was COLD. She took it back and about 5 minutes later brought it back – it was still cold well lukewarm. I am sorry but I just could not eat it.

She said she would take it off the bill and asked what I would like instead so I asked for the steak sandwich – she said she would have them hurry it out as DH and Dad were already plowing though their meal. Well — 30 minutes later – I finally got my steak sandwich — over cooked with over cooked fries. DH and his dad were done eating and I was really sad that my food was so disgusting. I ate it though — in a hurry cause I felt bad they were done and waiting to go. Of course I felt like crap for the rest of the day. It was not the waitresses fault. I blame the kitchen.

The Sims

After we dropped Dad off, DH took me to Best Buy and treated me to the new expansion for The Sims, called Makin’ Magic. This is a really fun game.

My The Sims Online account is now officially deactivated. I am hoping that I can rejoin the game around June after I have Baby Punchki and have settled into a routine.

I gave away most of my 500K simoleans to the few of my friends who are still playing and kept a little bit so if they will let me reactivate my account I will not be completely poor.

I must say, they have made some improvements to the game in the last month. Just when I have to go. Why couldn’t they have made the changes a few months ago when I could stay?? They now have pets, Real Jobs, and some other things that I cannot think of right now.

Halloween

We did not have very many kids come around for trick-or-treating. I wonder what was up with that? I spent about 10 bucks on candy — now I have to eat it all…. LOL Not really. DH is going to take it to work. The bad thing is the store did not have any Smarties anywhere for sale. I was really upset – they are my favorite….

Cats

All of my outside stray kitty buddies have disappeared – except for Mar. I have not seen any of them in about a week. There are two things that could have happened to them – 1) There is a hawk hanging out in our neighborhood or 2) that weird lady who came by the house a few weeks ago insisting they are our cats — called animal control and they trapped them — or worse someone killed them. I am really sad too cause Biz was a real sweetie – she is the mommy to my two kitties that I hand raised – they were her first litter and she was just a kitten herself and did not know what was happening to her. I have pics of the baby kitty terrors to post too. I have a lot to do – don’t I?

Pregnancy

Tomorrow I will be 12 weeks along. WOW can that really be? I am starting to pooch now and tummy is getting hard (well under that inch of fat). I have had a craving today for a 7-11 chicken salad sandwich on buttermilk bread. I had one for lunch on Friday and the taste has stuck with me… So much so I was dreaming about them last night. DH does not want to go to the store though. So I think my sister is dropping by to bring us some candy we ordered through my niece for her school fundraiser and I am going to ask her to bring me one. LOL

I think that is all for now. I know this is a long entry but — heck — this is the first I have felt like writing in a few days so there was a lot to say… Fred Kitty just stopped on my shoulder and told me to tell you all he says “MMMeeeeOOOWWW” — translated is “HI Y’ALL!”
