Routines.
We all have them lately I’ve been cursed with the same one. Its why I don’t share daily bits as they can get repetitive and boring.
Its been mostly the same for me since March of last year. So was cooking pasta and while straining the water out the strainer gave way and boiling water swallowed most of my left foot. Haven’t been able to work since then, had to wear a boot but I coukd walk. I could go places with a slight restriction. Despite all the treatments some things couldn’t heal and I had to have surgery. Lovely.
That came in late April. Post surgery visit the doctor didn’t like how it looked. So I was sent back in to the hospital in May. Had two more surgeries and was in there for almost 2 weeks. They didn’t think I’d be able to keep my foot but I did, thankfully. That was hell on so many levels.
Upon release I cannot walk. As in no weight on my foot. I use a knee scooter. Since my release I’ve had nurses come to address the wound since I was let out (May) and regular visits to my doctor.
I can’t much go anywhere but there and I cannot wait until I’m able to walk and work again. I won’t know what to do with myself or if ill be able to sit still again.
How awful! Thank goodness you didn’t lose the foot, but wow. I had foot surgery and a pin inserted several years ago and had to keep my foot elevated for 4 weeks. It was terrible so I can’t even imagine how unbearable it must be to endure it for months! I sure hope the foot finally heals and with therapy you will be back on your feet, literally!
@elkay Oh yeah I’m hoping its in the final stretches. I’d love to be mobile by the time spring starts. Thank you
