Weekend Warrior…

I knew this past weekend was going to be busy, but I am truly exhausted!

Friday night I went clubbing with a few of my coworkers. One of the girls had a room at the Wyndham Anatole, so we met up at property. I should have known the night was going to be crazy when the hotel door opened and the smell of weed smacked me in the face. [Editor’s note: I don’t have a problem with potheads…but it’s not my thing.]

After an hour or so, we head to the club. Chesty and I are sitting in the back trying to determine if we are contact high or just fashionably bored. LOL Now that I think about it, the weed girl probably shouldn’t have been driving on 75 (Highway to Hell for those of you that haven’t had the extreme pleasure of driving in Dallas).

We finally arrive and I immediately don’t like the environment. This club has got to be one of the most ghetto establishments in the Dallas area. Women wearing ass-out shorts and tube tops…Men with sports jerseys and bling-bling teeth…and weed everywhere. I have never been in a social situation that caused me to watch the clock and wait for 2:00am. I got home around 2:30 feeling lightheaded and sick to my stomach. I somehow managed to get up Saturday morning and go to kickboxing class and felt much better afterwards. Exercise really does improve things. Who knew?

Later that afternoon, Chesty and I made the trek to Houston to visit Donna and participate in the Run for the Rose 5K. The walk was very nice…even though the Texas heat showed up towards the end. It looks like the Danskin TRI will be my last fitness event until the fall Komen races start. I refuse to exercise outdoors in 100 degree weather. Heat stroke is not cute.

After the 5K, Donna took us around the city and we ended up shopping for home accessories at Burlington and experiencing the joy that is Central Market. I love this store! We have a couple in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, but they aren’t very close to where I live, so I’ve avoided them. I was truly impressed with the produce selection and the prepared meals. The prices are similar to Whole Foods, (so you have to take a loan out to shop), but it’s worth it.

Hope everyone has a drama-free Monday. I’ve already had to fight a rep from Hertz today…hope no one else has to feel the Wrath of Courtney this morning.

Aside from all the weed and ghetto-ism, it sounds like you had a good time.

I don’t like being around a lot of weed either. Still…less calories than alcohol. Until you get the munchies, of course.

The only thing good about clubs is the chance to dance away the night. Otherwise, it is booze and smoke and just not what I enjoy. Congrats on getting up the next AM and working out and going on the walk.

Sounds, um, interesting. Yeah, I hope your week is good, not so much adventure, ya hear?

LOL.. nearly every bar here is like the ghetto-shop you visited Friday night! 🙂 But way to go on still getting up the next morning.. I need some of your willpower. Or a swift kick in the arse. 😉

feh. your club experience sounds like a dud. feh on clubs. loves,

Ha ha ha. funny you should mention the wrath of Courtney. I let an Enterprise rental car guy feel my wrath the other night. I should write about it. Glad excercising made you feel better. Hope you have a great week.

You lasted ’til 2? I’d have been done after about half an hour. You are a weekend warrior. 🙂

Saw your note to LassThatLost. I have ComCast (formerly AT&T). The service has been going downhill steadily. Their own page won’t load half the time. I’m trying to get rid of them.
