The Elements…

Oh my goodness! The concert was GREAT! The bands opened together, did invidual sets (over an hour each) and then reunited for a bangin’ finale. EWF was off the chain. These men can still rock a party…and Phillip Bailey’s voice is a gift from God. His falsetto blows me away. EWF’s set included all of my favorites…except September. I was about to throw a fit. Someone must have alerted them about the crazy bitch on the lawn, because September was the first song of the joint finale. 🙂

Chicago was simply awesome. I’ve been jamming to EWF since I could walk (born in ’77, so Mom was playing their stuff on a regular basis in our house. I didn’t get turned on to Chicago until my high school marching band covered their biggest hits during junior year. Saturday in the Park…25 or 6 to 4…Make Me Smile…good stuff!

I can’t believe this is the first tour of its kind. Both bands are known for their extraordinary horn section and crossover appeal. The concert was a great mix of different ages and races. Black folks and white folks jamming to EWF and rocking out to Chicago. What a beautiful thing…. 🙂

It was also nice to hang out with Mom. Sometimes I forget how cool it is to have a young mother. LOL At 48, she’s old enough to eliminate the possibility of seeing her at my favorite club…but young enough to hang out at concerts and booty dance. I got all my trunk junk from her. :p

Hope you all have a tolerable Monday…

RYN: Me? An over achiever? Heh, heh… just remember young, Miss C — It takes one to know one. 🙂

I cannot wait to see them! I see them on the 11th of next month in Atlanta. My child is four and knows every single song!! That is what gets us hype in the morning on the way to work and school. Positive 1
