Potpourri…
I met the gals at 8:30 this morning for some Extreme Shopping at Sam Moon. The place sells handbags, luggage, and jewelry at wholesale prices. We arrived 10 minutes after the store opened and it was already pure chaos. You have to kick, punch, and bite your way through the place, but the great prices are worth it. I bought 2 purses that look like the Coach demi pouch. We all took advantage of the deals…and managed to talk Chesty out of getting a faux fur cell phone case. LOL
After going in a few more shops, we decided to have an early lunch. With 30 minutes to kill, my coworker April decided to go get a psychic reading. The place was small, dark and creepy (also in a questionable area. There was a “Massage” place next door and the girls looked like they were from the Pimps Up, Hoes Down HBO special). The psychic, hubby, and 2 kids live in the back room. While April is getting her reading, the hubby comes up front and feels obligated to chat with us. He introduces their 2 year old daughter and informs us that she hid his cell and he can’t find it. Now, you know I’m thinking If your wife is psychic, then why doesn’t she know where the damn phone is? LOL I decided to keep my mouth shut. April comes out of the reading and is definitely in shock. Apparently the lady was right on the money. Speaking of $, she advised April that her soul was troubled, but she could “cleanse her aura” for a mere $200. Whateva…
My friend Becky is getting married in November 2003 and I got roped into was asked to be a bridesmaid. I’m actually excited about it because it gives me another point of focus in my weight loss journey. She told me to put the “Incredible Shrinking Woman” routine on hold because she doesn’t want me to steal the show. I told her I make no promises. Divas cannot downplay their fabulousness (is that a word?). 🙂 I’m pleased with the dress. It’s actually a two-piece, so the top and bottom can vary in size, if needed. However, a size 14 overall would be sweet. :::Praying to the weight loss goddess:::
The dress (in the chosen color)…I plan to stand like the girl in the picture. That will make for great wedding party pictures, eh?
Only in Texas would you see a man in a winter coat and hat…standing over a grill to get his BBQ fix…
No major plans for this evening. I’m going to meet a few folks to go out for a late dinner…maybe a movie.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend…

Re: Sam Moon: You always hear about being caught up in chaos, but how often does anyone get to experience it? You did. And you survived. 🙂 I think the dress is incredibly basic and tasteful. It’s a good choice.
