Must-See TV…

I just realized that I haven’t talked about my shows this week! Lucky for you, I remembered. :p

Sopranos

Very powerful first episode. Even though their relationship was truly dysfunctional, it was strange seeing Tony and Carmella separated. I wonder if the writers plan to bring Furio back to shake things up a bit. It’s only fair, right? Tony is still tapping extracurricular ass…and trying to add Dr. Melfi to the list! I must admit that the roses/tide combo was charming….in a mafia boss kind of way.

Soul Food

I truly feel for Terri. She is still head over heels for Damon (who wouldn’t be…Boris Kodjoe is all kinds of fine). I wonder if her little tryst with the delivery guy was a dream sequence or the real deal? Sorry to see that Lem has more trouble coming his way…that brother can’t catch a break…ever. I can’t believe Bird is so “in your face” this season.

the L word

Still enjoying this show. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Gay dramas are the bomb! Of course, the L word doesn’t come close to Queer as Folk, but it’s still nice to see the women represented. This week’s episode rubbed me the wrong way, though. The “Angry Black Woman” character in the therapy scene was over the top. The issue has sparked a major debate on the sho.com message boards, but I’m not going to take it that far. I’ll just say I wasn’t pleased with the way she was portrayed. The show could definitely use a bit of tweaking in the race department. However, this is television…and while it’s supposed to represent “real life”, most shows don’t hit the mark. Look at Friends. How long did it take for them to add a Black character to the mix? On what planet would a city like New York be lilly white? Come on now…LOL

Back to the L word…there’s a rumor that Marina’s character won’t be in the second season. What? Why? This woman is mesmerizing. I’m secure enough in my heterosexuality to admit that I’d run away with her if she asked. :p
