LAF Fundraising…
As previously mentioned, Chesty and I are challenging ourselves to complete the 40 mile ride and raise $10,000 for 2004 Ride for the Roses. I know it’s a lofty goal, but we’re supposed to aim high, right?
A few updates on the fundraising efforts:
*Letters will be sent to both of our companies and our parents’ employers for corporate contributions.
*3-Family garage sale in April. All proceeds go to LAF.
*Chesty’s parents have agreed to host our BBQ/Pool party in June. $10 admission fee covers lunch/beers. Chesty and I are funding the event, so all party proceeds go to LAF.
*4 of my male friends have agreed to participate in a bachelor auction. We hope to eventually have 10 beefcakes for the event. I called in a favor with one of my hotel contacts and we’ve been given use of a large meeting space for free. $5 admission fee and all bid proceeds will go to LAF.
*Car wash in May/June. My brother’s basketball team will lend some muscle. Materials will be provided by our families. All donations go to LAF.
There are a few other ideas in the works…I’ll post additional details later. If anyone has suggestions, please leave me a note!
I had 2 account meetings today and I’m drained. It is wrong to have to give up your lunch hour once a week to be chew toys for upper management. Chesty and I are taking spinning class tonight. Godiva is teaching and she always kicks ass…I need it today.
Hope everyone has having a great week…

P.S. My brother just emailed to say that he loves me and he’s proud of my bike accomplishment. He knew about the event, but apparently just read the event entry today. It’s kind of scary that he reads my diary. Kyle truly sees me as the perfect Big Sis and my tell-all could change his mind. :p
You could always do a bake sale, hell, set up a paypal account and I’d donate some $ to your fundraiser. All the ideas you have so far are great though! 😀

It’s so nice to see people making a difference! Being a college student, I’m constantly surrounded by people who don’t care about anything except their drinking and exams. I read your main page . . . you’ve lost almost 200 pounds??? That’s VERY impressive!!! It’s wonderful to find people with motivation and drive on here. There isn’t enough of that in today’s world.

Yeah, set up an account that we can donate too and I’ll donate (maybe not until after Christmas) but I will donate.
