Job News…

As I mentioned, I interviewed for another corporate travel agency this week. Although it’s scary to leave my “safety net” of 2.5 years, I realize after 2 rounds of layoffs (and more coming with the Worldcom chaos), my net has a huge hole in it.

Well, after playing the awful waiting game, the HR rep called me this afternoon with an offer! I’ll be making $7k more than my current position. On the benefit side, the company has better vacation/sick time allotment and health insurance. I’ll also receive 6 additional airline tickets per year. LOL Just call me the Flying Heifer.

I have several former coworkers at the new company, so it won’t be totally foreign to me. I’ll start on 8/12, so my notice will go in on Monday…how sweet it is. 🙂

On a side note, I must say that the weight loss definitely improved the whole process. I’ve had interviews in the past when I worried about what types of chairs would be present and if they would support my weight. No worries this time around…and the chair even had extra room. Gotta love those nonscale victories. 🙂
