Diva’s Fitness Events…

I can’t believe February is here and I’ve yet to do a fitness event! 2005 will be about focusing on bigger goals. I’ll be adding a few 5K charity events to the mix, but this year’s theme is Raising the Bar…which will require me to stay away from the “social” bars. LOL

 

Space Race-April 3, 2005-Houston, TX (Distance: 22 miles)

The Space Race 2005… Houston’s “out of this world, astronomical event”, benefiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Houston/Galveston, Inc., blasts once again, into Space Center Houston on Sunday, April 3, 2005. It is Houston’s largest fundraising event for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Houston/Galveston, Inc.

Danskin Women’s Triathlon-June 12, 2005-Austin, TX (Distance: Swim-1/2 mile, Bike-12 miles, Run-3.1 miles)

“The Woman who starts the Race is not the same Woman who finishes the Race”.

After a successful 2004 season, Danskin is once again proud to announce that The Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be the Official Charity for the 2005 Danskin Women’s Triathlon Series. Danskin will donate 10% of all entry fees received to this outstanding organization. Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder, Senior Corporate Vice President of The Estée Lauder Companies, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) as an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to funding clinical and genetic breast cancer research. BCRF supports scientists at leading medical centers worldwide whose research is focused on achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime.

Lance Armstrong Foundation-Ride for the Roses Weekend-October 21-23, 2005-Austin, TX (Distance: 5K run, 40 mile bike)***

The Peloton Project is the LAF’s major grassroots fundraising and outreach initiative that brings together a diverse group of volunteers dedicated to helping people living with cancer live strong. In 2004, 7200 Peloton Project members collected more than $5.6 million in donations and we were represented in all 50 states and in 21 countries.

***Yes, I will be begging for funds again this year…it’s for a great cause AND it helps your karma. 🙂

I hope everyone has a great weekend! No major plans for SB Sunday. I have a baby shower to attend tomorrow afternoon and I’m sure the TV room will be crowded.
