Deceiving Liquid
I don’t have to force myself to swallow, not when I have a reason. An endless glass of rum and coke and only myself to blame. Where was my switch, my barrier, my defense mechanism with you? My dillusional mind repeats ” Just another sip more and you’ll forget.” “Just another sip closer to… to what?” My unsteady hand lifts the glass for another monstrous yet satisfying gulp. But even this cannot wash you away. All this only serves to intensify this undeniable energy I feel just when I think of you.
“One more,” repeats the voice. So I reach over to take my last sip and painfully realize,
That you are not in the bottom of my glass.
Awww…that’s sad and bittersweet. I really love your diary. I’ve never heard of you until today…I caught your note on Jack’s diary.
