batteries, chili, Etsy

lilypie kids birthday ticker

I went to put together the baby swing today.  Ben’s having another "Mommy, don’t you dare put me down or stop moving or I will scream until I die!" kind of day, so I thought maybe the swing would placate him since he won’t have anything to do with the sling this week.

Well, I got the darn thing put together and unscrewed the battery panel to see what size I needed, and guess what I found?

Batteries.

When Aaron took the swing apart when Chloe got too big for it, he left the effing batteries in the motor.  Mind you, that was a year and a half ago.  Naturally, they leaked all over the damn place, and the springs in the motor that connect to the battery terminals were corroded and in pieces.  I have to throw the entire thing in the garbage, and I’m not happy about that.

I did manage to find an almost new one on CraigsList for $40, so hopefully I’ll be able to snag that one.

Then, during dinner, while Ben was fussing himself into a true hissy fit, Chloe decided to paint my curtains and sewing machine with the chili in her bowl.  And she climbed on the dining room table about half a dozen times.  She’s not making my life any easier right now, and I swear to God, sometimes I think she does it on purpose, she’s just that smart. ðŸ˜›  I don’t know what I’m going to do as she gets older; she’s already outthinking me, I’m ashamed to admit.

Ben had a poopy diaper a bit ago, his first in FOUR days (not unusual for him, and it normally doesn’t bother him a bit), so hopefully that was the source of the fussiness and he’ll settle down now.  Goodness knows I need it.

One good thing that happened today: I finally opened up my Etsy store!  There’s nothing in it right now; I’m waiting to get my new debit card in the mail before I list anything.  I also still need to take the photos of the jewelry I’m listing, and I’m waiting on another Etsyian to finish up the design on my shop banner.  All in all, I’m hoping to be able to "launch" officially in about five or so days.  I’m excited!  It’s just one more step toward being a full-time work-at-home mom.  Not that just being Mom isn’t work enough, but that doesn’t pay the bills.

Eh.  I need to call Aaron and give him a grocery list to bring home from work.  We’re out of milk.
