I really wanted to sleep in a bit this morning, but Benjamin had other plans and decided to drag me out of bed at 7.  I was hoping to sleep in so I could bank a bit of sleep for tonight, because I have to close until ten, then be back in at 6 in the morning because it’s inventory weekend.  Once you add my 45min. drive to the mix, I’ll be lucky if I get four hours of sleep tonight.  Oh well.  Hopefully I’ll be able to doze on the couch for a bit after Aaron gets up.

I still haven’t made a final logo decision, but I appreciate everyone who left me notes telling me their preference.  I’m not really going to start the rebranding process until around New Years, when I make the switch to "regular" pricing as opposed to the super cheap portfolio building pricing I’ve got going on.  I’m hoping to make a decision on the logo within the month so I have time to get my marketing materials changed, website edited, etc. before the switchover.

Chloe was supposed to have her first dentist appointment yesterday, but I had to cancel because my boss changed my schedule at the last minute.  I was leaning toward canceling anyway, though, because when I called to make the appointment, the clerk was very quick to tell me that they don’t let the parents accompany the child into the exam room for any reason.  They’re a pediatric dentistry office, specializing in "first visits" for younger kids, so that just rubbed me the wrong way.  I don’t let my child go into the pediatrician’s exam room alone, I’m sure not going to let her go to her first dentist appointment alone.  The problem with canceling is that I’m going to have a heck of a time finding a new dentist because Chloe’s on state insurance and there aren’t many dentists around here who accept it.  I’ll probably have to end up driving her to Charleston, which will be fun, because she gets carsick.

I have a feeling Ben may start potty training soon.  He’s all the time dragging me to the bathroom so he can sit on the toilet and "pee".  He’ll take a book with him and sit there for twenty minutes sometimes.  It’s cute.  The other day he carted "Breaking Dawn" in there.  He hasn’t actually used the potty yet, but I’m betting it won’t be long.

I really need to post some recent pictures of the kids – they’re getting so big!  Heck, who am I kidding?  I need to take some recent pictures of the kids!  I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t really picked up my camera at all in the past month or so.  I’m hoping to rectify that next week.  I’ve got three days off so I’m going to spend one of those days out and about, shooting for the day, and then hopefully home after sunset to get some good portraits of the kids.  We’ll see.

That’s crazy that they won’t let the parents accompany the children in to the dentist! Very odd… I hope you find one where that isn’t the case. Here, the ‘public’ dentists start seeing children from when they’ve got teeth (my goodness, that’s Lydia now… her first one popped through on Tuesday) and definitely with parents until they want to go in alone, probably as older teens. xxx

My kids’ pediatric dentist doesn’t let me accompany them either, but I’ve found it to be a blessing. I think my oldest does better without me there because I get anxious at the dentist and that rubs off on her if I’m around
