The new eating habits have been going so great, much better than I expected.  I’ve had a few moments where I feel like hunting through cabinets looking for a leftover Twinkie, but I’ve been able to get past that by grabbing a handful of grapes, or yogurt covered raisins.

I’ve been trying to make myself get used to eating vegetable I previously didn’t really like.  Like onions, or peppers.  That’s going pretty good so far.  The big test is going to be mushrooms.  I bought some, and I intend to fix and eat them at some point, but I’ve never liked mushrooms so it’s going to be a chore.  I’m making a mostly raw veg pizza tonight for dinner, so maybe I’ll slice a few up and throw on there.

So far I’ve pretty much gotten into the pattern of having lots of fresh fruit and maybe a little almond milk for breakfast, raw veggie wraps or a salad for lunch, and then I go whole food vegetarian for dinner.  It’s been working out really well.  The other night I made PW’s corn and avocado salsa (which is SOOOOO good!) and piled it on top of some ahi tuna steaks, with some black bean and mango salsa tacos.  It was delicious.  Even Chloe loved it.

I’m still drinking some Pepsi everyday, but I’ll soon be starting to wean myself off of it because I can’t get Pepsi Throwback at the local store anymore, so all I’ve got is the HFCS-sweetened version.

I already feel tons better.  My energy is a bit better, my legs aren’t cramping up so much (because I’m eating bananas and getting plenty of potassium), and I can already feel my clothes getting looser again.  It’s been nothing but good things.  The only negative I’ve noticed is that I seem to be hungry all the time, or wanting to munch all day long.  I bought some pretzels to help when I need a "snacky" food.  So I either grab a few of those or a banana or drink some water.  Mostly, it’s psychological, I think, so it’ll take some time for it to fade.

I’m happy with the way things are going, though!

Congrats on your healthy eating changes so far 😀 a good “snack’ food ive been getting hooked too.. its a brand called “preventia” and they sell healthy cookies/granola type bars. Also ginger snaps are good! you can find organic ones in the grocery store, but i forget the name. There is a lot more healthy options out there if we open our eyes to them

Mmmm Veg pizza. I love tomato, green pepper and mushroom on mine. 🙂 I never really liked mushrooms. But if they are on pizza and don’t get mushy I LOVE them.

PW<33 LOL I read her e very day now! I HATE mushrooms and I will never like them EVER! lol.

Yeah us vegetarians have to eat all the time. It’s not like you are eating crap though. I usually eat fruit only for breaskfast like a whole mango or some strawberries and blueberries. I have almonds and trail mix in my desk. I also have a love affair with broccoli. I cut up carrots and dip them in hummus too. For lunch I usually have something from Amy’s or something from home like a strawberry and almond salad or veggie tacos or baked zucchnni and red pepper sandwiches. If you need more idea’s let me know. We don’t buy any meat anymore. My blood pressure has gone down, my skin has cleared up and I’m not bloated all the time.

That’s great! If you try the green smoothies you will find your cravings go down significantly. Also the hungry feeling won’t be so strong. I can be craving sweets when I wake up in the morning, drink my green smoothie and then I could care less if a whole cake was right in front of me…lol! Good luck!

doing similar health eatingchanges. Recently bought the emulsifier andit makes soups, juices etc all fresh. the grapes thing? I noticed that if you keep grapes or other fruit that you like, in thehouse all thetime, then you can pick that up instead of pickingup the twinkie things. that works for me.

re Pepsi, I was sooooooooooaddicted to pepsi. What I did for this was I forced myself to drink a different drink . I.e. I don’t like coca cola as much. So when I had cola inthe house, I found thatI drank much less soda than when I kept Pepsi in the house. This is one way of cutting down.
