01/14/2010*edit w/365
For having had most of the week off work, I’ve gotten remarkably little done. And, I’ve already failed at my 365, which sucks, but Ben has a staph infection and is grumpy, grouchy, and clingy on top of the regular teething madness. Ben’s a very high needs little guy, so when he’s not feeling well, I really can’t get anything done.
Oh, well, maybe next year when he’s a little more independent, I can actually finish a 365. I did make it to day 10, and I got a couple of good shots. I’ll try to share later this evening when I have time to copy/paste all the stuff over from flickr. I am going to try to take on SOME kind of photo project through, just not one as demanding as 365. I bought a book a couple of weeks ago "50 Photo Projects" or something like that, so I’ll have to see if it has any good ideas.
I have to call off work tonight because the walk-in hours at Ben’s pedi’s office aren’t until after five, and I need to take him in to get antibiotics for his bum (his diaper rash turned to a staph/bacterial infection), which sucks, because I’m only on the schedule for three days this week. Aaron’s not going to be happy that I had to call off, but that’s just how it goes. I can’t let the baby sit around in pain any more than absolutely necessary, and I hate even waiting until after five when I could get in at urgent care right now, but I really need the pedi to check him over, as I do have one concern to discuss with him. Ben had a "fat wrinkle" on one of his little legs when he was born, and that "wrinkle" is still there, about an inch and a half above his ankle, even though he’s now a pretty slender guy. He’s definitely not got enough meat on him to make a wrinkle necessary, so I’m going to have the pedi check it out to make sure nothing is amiss. And while I’m there I need to schedule Chloe’s yearly checkup. We don’t do all the well baby visits, just annual checkups, and it’s time for those again.
In other news, I don’t really have any other news. Just working, back to school again, and taking care of the kids. I ordered my business cards, finally, and I’m looking forward to those getting here. I also decided to switch print labs to my backup lab. The print quality is the same, but the prices are better, and they offer more products that I would like to use in my product line. I’m also making plans to rent booth space at the 2011 Bridal Expo, so I’m starting early to come up with a comprehensive booth design and marketing approach, and hoping I’m able to photograph several more weddings in 2010.
Oh, and I have another UTI. Seriously, how annoying. I don’t know what it is. They come out of nowhere, like clockwork, every three months or so. Blah.
Anyway, going to try to get Grumpy Gus down for a nap.

ryn: it’s strange, i’ve had a few people commenting on how quickly my pregnancy appears to have flown… to me it seems to have taken absolutely aaaaages. I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever. I found out last June, which really does seem like a long time ago… Now i’m on maternity leave time is speeding up just a little bit, but for the most part it has seriously dragged…. xx
