finally getting the hang of it

Well, I’m finally getting the hang of it, getting on OD. I know I still have alot to learn. I’m 64, and don’t have alot of skills with a computer, so please bear with me folks.  And I don’t have any one to help me with learning the ropes of a PC, so I do what I can on my own. If any one out there has any suggestions for me, I would welcome them. Today is not a good day for me. I’m in alot of pain. They tell me I have fibromyalgia, but I know there is more going on then that. Any one out  there have fibro. or knows someone who does ? What a terrible thing to have, so much pain & stiffness. I have a doc appointment comin up soon, don’t know what he will say to do or take for it. I just hate going to doctors, hate taking meds and hate getting tests done. Seems like you can never get a straight answer from them, just want to push pills on you. And I don’t like to take pills either, especially addictive ones. Well, guess that’s it for now. Hope to hear from some ppl soon.

My sister-in-law and a friend have fibromyalgia. One of the things a friend told me is that she cut out food, drinks with artificial sweeteners and they felt better. So it might help to avoid that stuff in all foods. It may make a difference. Also, drink lots of water. Staying well-hydrated helps your muscles and bones move easier. Ice for swollen joints. Heat for muscle relaxation…

Also go to internet101.com and it will give you some basic information about using the internet. Just ignore anything it says about AOL. You do not want to use AOL. For learning basic computer skills, this site can help you understand all the jargon and basics: http://www.basic-computerskills.com/ I hope this helps. Good luck. 🙂

I’m a massage therapist and a lot of people experience relief from Fibromyalgia and other pain with massage. A good massage therapist can work light or deep, depending on what you need. To put your picture on the left margin, go to Diary Maintenance > Diary Layout > Select “display profile picture” under “select Diary Format” > Under “Current Picture,” click on “Upload New Picture.” The next page will tell you how to upload a picture. It has to be less than 50K in size or it won’t take. Hope this helps. 🙂 Welcome to OD.

My friend has Fib and went for months living with the pain till finally she’d had enough and got on medication. She’s seen a lot of improvement and will stick with the meds. Like she say’s, life is so much easier to live, when the pain is bearable. She’s so grateful for the medication that gets her through the day. At our age we’ll take any help we can get 🙂
