From a message board: making decisions faster
How do entrepreneurs increase their comfort level with making strategic decisions quickly, with limited information and high consequences?
The first is what is called taking a calculated risk when making your decisions. What this means is that you must create a threshold to qualify your decisions. For instance, a major client cancels just when you are about to do a major marketing push, what do you do? You determine the minimum viable outcome you want. In this instance, more customers so you find a way to push forward. This is called filtering the signal from the noise. Second, create a buffer zone between your work life and personal life. Have a section of your life you can retreat to and find peace no matter the outcome of your decisions. This is called not taking things personally.
