Kids Rooms
Dear Diary:
The kid’s rooms are moving along. My daughter’s room is essentially done. Just need to hang the curtain rods and the "window" when it comes in. Because she is in the basement, she has one tiny window. The thought was to find a poster of a beach scene and frame it on the wall as if it was her window looking out onto the beach. Well, I found one on http://www.fathead.com. She loves it and I don’t have to build anything!
You can see it here.
My son’s room was painted this week. I hired someone to do it because of the wallpaper issue. Thank God I did. It would have taken me two weeks to get that wallpaper off! Yesterday L built his bed and desk (ikea) and I hooked up my old computer for him. We still have to get curtains and some stuff for the walls. He has gotten into baseball and wants his room done with a NY Mets theme so we bought him the comforter and sheets with that theme (see it here). He has a nice David Wright plaque that I hung. He is also intoStrat-O-Matic baseball and I had a personalized card done for him last year. I am having the printer blow it up and put it on a fathead type of vinyl so it will go on his wall. I figure if he is going to have baseball theme, then I’m going to make it cool with personalized stuff rather than just posters all over the wall.
School starts in a week. I’m not very excited about it as I have enjoyed the time off this summer. But only three semesters left so just buckle down and do it!
The big boss spoke to me about my harassment complaint. He said the labor attorney does not think I have enough yet. What the complaint has done is make them look at my boss more closely. On the audio tape I submitted my boss stated that he can lie and get away with it because of his position. Now they are looking for the lies.
Things are no better with the wife. We had a good screaming match the other day but it has been quiet since. I am grateful that she put the furniture together. I hate doing that stuff.
Now to excavate my son’s room this weekend. Last weekend, my daughter finished cleaning out her old room and we ended up with 9 bags of garbage, 2 bags of clothing recycling and 2 bags of paper recycling. My son’s room is mostly toys that he doesn’t play with any longer. God willing that will be easier. He also has a ton of old clothes that he does not fit into any longer. Why L doesn’t get rid of them is beyond me. The top of his dresser in the old room is piled 2 ft high with clothes.
Off to work now…
I love the tropical window scene. Who wouldn’t love to look at that!
