What is going on at the moment …

*screams and stomps feet*

I am so bloody tired of school!
I want a real break…No…I NEED a real break. *sigh*

I was looking soooo forward to my perceived break…The one the schedule said I could look forward to…The one that said summer classes would be from May 6-June 19…The schedule that said I would have 9 weeks off…A legitimate summer.

But no…Nope…Not going to happen. Not how it’s going to work.

I have a class which has been describe as a complete waste of time. Joy…Because I so enjoy wasting my time. *rolls eyes*
Technically it’s two classes, but it’s pretty much lumped together…
PED 265: Teaching Health in Elementary Schools…Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday…5:00-6:50
PED 266: PE and Dance for Elementary Education…Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday…7:00-9:20
This will run May 6th(ish) through June 19th(ish).

Because of this class…& the way it’s set up, it conflicted with Science being the first section of Summer.
So now…

SCI 226: Integrated Physical Science for K-8 Teachers…Tuesday & Thursday…3:00-6:20
This will run June 24th(ish) through August 6th(ish)

Giving me two weeks…TWO weeks…before Fall classes start…*stabs @ Fall classes*
Which yeah…Not over joyous about either.
1.) MAT 300…Music, Art, Theatre…Another class that I have heard, repeatedly, referred to as pointless.
&…*insert dramatic/horror-related music here*
2.) ENG 495…It’s the final English class…A Kurt Bullock English class…A 18-25 page seminar paper English class…Which must be presented to a panel downstate at the main campus.

ANYWAY…

3 weeks left of this semester…O.o
I’m ready for it to be done, but not ready to get all the work done.

Diverse Perspectives on Education:
#5 Action Research…Due next Tuesday…I have 3 articles for consideration…None of them short…I could really use short.
Diversity Education Lesson Plan…Due 16th. OMGs…This one should be easy, as we don’t have to worry about Core Standards or anything…But, on the other side of that, not having those standards, we have to come up with what we are looking to teach without any kind of backup to tell us "This is what needs to be taught."
The focus is suppose to be on such topics as: Peace Education, Tolerance, Disabilities, Multi-Cultural Education…I haven’t a bloody clue what to do. *falls over*
Service Learning…Due 23th (last day of class)…I have it all set up…I just need to find the time to actually get back over there! I don’t have time for all of this!

Life Science for K-8 Teachers:
Lesson plan…Due Next Thursday….Which, needs to be aligned to the 5Es of Scientific Inquiry, it’s Standards & Science Unit, appropriate Process Skills & Crosscutting Concepts…& incorporate at least one GLCE (Michigan’s standards) from another discipline (I’m going with English, as that is my major after all)…There has to be some kind of activity…& it has to have some connection to Global Climate Change. *sigh* *falls over*
Although…For my one class a couple semesters ago, we had to have an integrated lesson plan…I connected English & Science…I’m hoping I can tweak it and be able to use it, instead of having to start from scratch. *crosses fingers* I just need to shift focus to Science, and figure out how to incorporate Global Climate Change.
Due next Thursday & on the 18th…Reflection questions.
& EXAM on the last day of class…25th.

Social Studies for Elementary Teachers:
TOO MUCH! *falls over*
Core Democratic Values in the News…Which I’m not really sure when it’s due (I think next week)…Or what it is! I just know, it needs added to the dreaded Weebly eventually.
Geo-Diary…Due 17th(ish)…[Basically she said we could just end up turning everything in the last week…Or actually, the Friday after the last scheduled class even.]…Thing about this is…We have to have 10-15 pictures of places. Some of the places I would like to use, I can’t get to because of snow. I have pictures already, but I can’t use them, because we need the date, time && the direction the camera was pointed when the picture was taken. *headdesk* So yeah…
Unit Plan…Draft 17th…Final 24th(ish)…I’ve been mistakenly referring to this as a lesson plan…It’s SIX lesson plans…Some of what we have done is suppose to make up the basis for this, but still…It’s so much work to try and get done. [& it’s not like I was procrastinating…There was just poor organization all around.]
Weebly…Due 24th…I’ve got some of it done…I’ve got to tweak a few other things to get them ready to go on…I’m finding it annoying more than anything at this point. It’s like busy work, and I don’t have time for busy work.
IN ADDITION: I need to add some stuff to my foldables to bring those points up…& add citations of books to my ILA, didn’t even think about them when doing it.
& I need to fix some things on my KUDs…*sigh*
PLUS…She’s invited us to come & join some other Grand Valley students that are going to be wandering around the school she teaches 5th grade at on the 19th.

I think…Currently I’m looking at A-(s) in

Social Studies & Science (not counting the test in Science last night…Which likely killed part of that grade).
& I’ve gotten full points for everything I’ve turned in for Diverse Perspectives…So, yeah…We shall see what happens.

 

I should write about St. Louis…But it wasn’t the best time.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved getting to spend time with Wasil…
BUT…The disastrous trip down got to me…Even if it was nice to be rescued.
It just didn’t start well…Then Wasil had to work & when he got home, it was too late to go do anything really.
& Friday…The one day he had off…I wasn’t feeling good, so I didn’t push wanting to go do anything…So…We didn’t. Unless of course, you count going to the fish store…Which was my only outing the whole time I was there…& the only other time I left the apartment was to sit in the driveway and watch while he washed his car.

So…There is my current spaz for the moment…
