Trying to catch up..I’m sure I’ve missed something
Tired…But I want to get something written here about the last week & a half.
Saturday, Aug. 18th…Headed off to Missouri, with a lay over & a half @ O’Hare. [Nearly 4 hours!] Had lunch @ the airport @ an Italian café. Left a loverly tip (I’m a good tipper), a rock with a smilie face & googlie eyes & a stamped paw print on the paper table cloth & the words ‘Coyote Soul’ written around it. It entertained me.
About a half hour before the next plane was to take off I decided to go to ‘the little girl’s room’…My phone fell…Into the toilet! O.o *headdesk* I rescued it (the water was as clean as such water can be)…It freaked & died. I called Mum, almost in tears. I had no way to get a hold of Wasil to tell him I was without a phone. Luckily, Mum found my old phone, got his number off it, and called him to tell him my phone was down, while I boarded the plane for my last flight of the day.
Luckily, Wasil managed to take my phone apart the next day, and make sure it was all happy once more…& so, my phone was working & I didn’t have to replace it.
Tuesday (Aug. 21st), we went to the Botanical Garden. It was quite loverly. *smiles* Although it caused poor Wasil a great deal of pain before we were done, which lingered for the remainder of my stay. *sigh* But he was willing to go through it, to give me the one day out I asked for. [He probably would have endured more days out, had I actually asked…But I didn’t want to add anymore to his pain.]
The Botanical Garden…I have 125 pictures on Facebook. I could have taken more. All the day lilies had passed their blooming time, which is sad, so they were only a lot of green leaves.
The Japanese show was done, but some things still were hanging out. There was an Emperor’s throne…Wasil had me sit in it, and attempted to direct me to look all regal. *laughs* After that, while we were walking through the garden he kept referring to me as his Empress. *blushes* It was so sweet.
There was a small labyrinth, which he joked about being lost in as we walked through it.
Despite it being the long way, we went around to where the Koi pond/feeding station was at, so I could see & feed the koi. There were soooooooo many of them. I kept trying to drop pieces of food in their open mouths. *laughs*
There is a thing there called a Climatron (sp)…I want one! It’s encased, at least partially, in glass…There were 2 or 3 waterfalls…Little cave-like areas…& soooo many different exotic plants & trees. I even saw one bird fly through the air in once plane. There is a spiral walk-way, though it’s hard to tell that unless you are paying close attention, as it’s woven through the plant life. The temperature inside was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.
There were 3 trips to the fish store…Where I learned clownfish are mean. *glares warily @ Nemo*
I bought Wasil a brain coral. It felt nice to be able to get him something I knew that he would like. *smiles* I always worry about what little things I can get him. I know it’s the thought that counts really…But still…It helps if you know what you get someone is liked.
Speaking of gifts…He saved my birthday present for me till we could be in person. It’s a beautiful, two-strand garnet necklace. He got it from Macy’s! O.o
Before I left he got me a spinning ring with a dragon on it.
We spent most of the time at his house, just enjoying getting to see each other in person. We went out to eat a couple times, and ordered in a couple times.
This is so out of order…
Before the Critters left me on Thursday night, Sonja & I did a bit of a book exchange. She gave me books from the series she’s been reading [Chronicles of Ancient Darkness]…& I sent her off with the first three DragonLance books. [We both have reached almost done with the first one of each set.]
Not surprising, her favorite character is Tasslehoff! & now she really knows what kenders are like, instead of just going by what I’ve told her.
Sonja’s cat had kittens the Monday I was gone…5 of them! 4 of them have DragonLance names…The 5th one is Harley’s.
I got back on the 25th…Mum got the Critter’s that morning, so they got to come to pick me up at the airport that night. *smiles*
Monday (Aug. 27th)…Sonja & I scoured TC for something for her to wear the first day of school. We ended up with most of it…She’s going to look like a kender the first day of school! *laughs*
Today (Aug. 29th)…We finally managed to get her last needed stuff, including her shoes/boots. Which I’m considering getting a similar pair after FA refunds come back. [She got knee-high ‘Converse’]
Tomorrow was suppose to be my first day back of the semester…But it got cancelled. (Perhaps because they still don’t have a teacher! Or, perhaps because they found one, but whoever it is needs the time to prepare.)
Tianna didn’t end up moving to TC, so I don’t have a place to crash during my weekend classes. Blah…It’s going to suck beyond sucking! [I don’t get out till nearly 9 PM Friday night, and I have to be back my 9 AM Saturday morning! & he’ll dock points from our grade if we are late! *glares @ professor*]
Mum is still on a liquid diet after her surgery. Although she did manage to eat a few strands of spaghetti tonight.
Sonja’s fish died while I was gone…She’s wanting a hamster, or some other fuzzy animal now.
Back to talk of surgery…Wasil has decided to have the surgery on his back. [For those who missed it…He has a herniated disk. I can’t remember which numbers he said they were…I just know it’s his lower back, & he’s in pain almost every day. He goes Friday to talk to the doctor about it.
We had a couple really special moments, sharing thoughts & worries & what not while I was in MO. & I realized my usually overly logical boy is worried about this ‘end of the world’ stuff ‘scheduled’ for December. *sigh* I tried to be reassuring…Telling him if something is to happen, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the world is going to be destroyed completely.
Honestly, I won’t be surprised if something does happen…But I don’t expect an all out end. But…He’s worried that we’ll never see each other again. I also know, if something does happen, and he leaves MO…He’s heading for Michigan.
Anyway…Got a bit sidetracked there…While Wasil is recovering, his mother is going to go down & help around the house. I wish I could go down, for at least a few days, but it’s just not feasible…& his mother would probably drive me utterly crazy.
Now…I have to go put some finishing touches on Maria&
rsquo;s front page…& hunt for a plot…There has to be one somewhere…
