Today is my birthday…

I amazingly got to get my Critters for the day, well part of it. I got to pick them up at 10-ish and took them back at 6.
Mum was even around until around 4.
I’ve been gone the last two years on my birthday. I was looking at not having anyone around for today…Then Mum said she’d leave work early, and I managed to get the Critters. So it wasn’t a day of lonely like I was expecting.

 

We went to Petoskey and had Chinese food for lunch.
I had wanted to do something more…But an outing of anywhereness didn’t happen.
But…We did take the duckies down to the tube and race them (FINALLY). Mum’s duck won the first time…We tossed them a few times…I think they all won at least once. The one time my duck tried to escape…She was flipped upside down and kept going down the river. I had to run after her on the shore and catch her further down the way. But they were all rescued. *smiles*

 

Had to run Harley back to the house while we were down at the tubes, on the way back there was a doe and her fawn walking across the river. They stayed at the edge of the woods, so we got a good look at them as we drove by.
When I had to take the Critters back to the Idiots, before we even got to the end of our road, we seen a blue heron fly over. We haven’t seen any of those around in a few years. It was nice to see one again. *smiles*

 

I just watched the video I took of the duckie race. It made me smile. I needed it.
Honestly, I’m feeling a bit on the down side now that everyone is gone.
Home alone isn’t exactly the funnest way to spend a birthday.

 

Wasil paid for my plane tickets and got them booked today for August. It’s probably the only reason he remembered to wish me a happy birthday. He had to ask for my birthdate. I know he’s not good with such things…But still…It’s not like it’s really that hard to write it down. & he’s still being snarky about me not getting his present to him for 2 months. At least I remembered it was his birthday and told him happy birthday without having to be reminded!

 

Wednesday during class I still wasn’t feeling quite well, and Emily offered me some Pepto for my belly. So I went down with her on break. She told me she wanted to raid my closet. *laughs*
I’d gone to get my license renewed earlier and while in the DMV the one other lady there told me she liked my style, or something along those lines.

 

I’ve got the 6 lesson plans for Teaching Writing done…
I still need to write up one more Summer writing exercise…That shouldn’t be too much trouble, just need to figure out what I’m going to do for it.

Think that’s about it for the moment. Going to go do some more in my ‘Finish This Book’…I think, as long as the weather is nice, I’m going to go out back tomorrow. I need to get out into nature.
